What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

How's the rebuild of the MS6 coming along? Any more progress pics?

under the hood has been painted. primered the passenger fender and front bumper today. tomorrow, we are flipping over the hood, and shoot some primer on it then all the parts will be painted on monday. i'll snap some pictures tomorrow.

Cool.

I was going to change the oil today, but I can't find my cheater boards to get up the ramps, and I don't have an oil filter in the garage, and the auto parts store near me that sells Wix filters is closed on weekends.

yeah, i'm real excited to get the car done. i've had a blast driving it last night and today just up the road. though, i'm getting a lot of wheel hop when i get on it in first, should i be?

and luckily, my dad does body work for a living obviously, and i work as a mechanic doing brakes and oil changes mostly. so i'm set for having to do anything to with my cars, lol. guys are work are always willing to help out.

some aftermarket motor mounts should help ya out with that.. the stock ones are junk.

Most people don't do more than the rear, especially for a DD. Vibrations can get unbearable for some if you change the other mounts.

i can understand that. i was contemplating buying the set, but i think i'll pass due to what you posted above and just go with the rear.

I have rear and turbine tech front engine mount. The engine is rock steady but also comes with a major downside. Vibrations! If you are easily annoyed with panels in your car vibrating and different rpms then this mod isnt for you. I am used to it kinda but passengers get easily annoyed. Lower rpm's like idle. The front bumper and hood shake making a loud vibrating sound from the front of the car. 1500-2800rpm is perfect. Once you hit 3 grand get ready for panels to vibrate off the chart. Then again it is enhanced with a turbo back exhaust. Its annoying as hell on the interstate. I try not to go over 75 since it approaches the 3 grand mark.

It's in the mail, so I don't have any pics yet...if I'm lucky it will show up on Friday, and if I get time I'll put it on over the weekend. At the least I want to try to wire it up and make sure the mirror works; it's not clear if I'll have to replace the button on the windshield or will be able to use it as is, and that will take more time to deal with.

I emailed the guy doing this eBay auction about the mirror; he suggested using the LCD from this other auction, so the color would match, and then put the hidden display glass onto it. So, it should look like the one in the hidden display auction but with a color that matches pretty closely to the one in our cars.

Good guy too, we talked over email and he put it together really quick...if it works out and people are interested you can probably just tell him to give you the same mirror and I bet he could handle it.

I put this on today, no issues and it works real well. I was rushing a bit to get finished and out the door, so I need to clean it up a bit and then I'll put some pictures and an explanation of how to do it up.

yeah, definitely not a fan of vibrations. i'll probably just stick to doing the rear mount then.

would you all recommend a new rear diff mount or just replacing the stock bolts for stronger ones? cause from what i've read, the bolts are what brake?

Will AWR 70 duro help at all?

vibes will be less, thump will go away, but i dont understand why people b**** about the vibes of the 88. i love it and have no problems with the vibes. when i first put it in, and my car was warm idling at like 700 ish rpm i was like, those pussies complain too much lol. its nothing compaired to my buddies civic with solid mounts... just imagine a cammed k20 turbo em2 civic with no cats, no res, no mufflers. and a 3 inch turbo back to boot. god thats something.

the bolts break because its metal hitting metal with large force. reduce the force by eliminating the movement and you will have no breakage.
