What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

This is the one I pointed out a few weeks ago that Steve said didn't apply to the MS6 because it just calls out for the regular 6. Hopefully for you guys that isn't the case, or at least they will include the MS6 even if it's not specifically mentioned.

I bought an auto dimming rear view mirror with compass and Homelink, it's on the way and hopefully I can put it in this weekend. I got it made a bit custom, with the compass LED the same color as our dash lights and the mirror glass without the blacked out area around the LED display. Yeah, you can just flip up the mirror, but it's a nice convenience and hopefully the Homelink will remove the need for a remote.

Typically, MS6 recalls will call out MAZDASPEED6 in the affected vehicles portion. They will seperate the Mazda 6 and MS6 from each other. That doesn't mean that this still might not work as a fix for our seats. Sorry if that wasn't a bit clearer.

Dug mine out from about 10" of snow today. Driving to work was fun too. Looks like my fronts are starting to get close to the wear bars, so I may pull the trigger on those Blizzak's soon if they're still available in a week or two.

A) Where did you get that done; and

B) Pics please!

I've been looking for a red LED compass mirror on and off since I got the car and haven't found anything.

Wow, I just replaced my windshield too... I know how it feels

oh? did it seemed installed well? interior noise any worse?
If you have a good install job, factory glass... then there is a descent chance it will be as good as new.

but aftermarket glass + crappy installer = windnoise increase, road noise increase, and new rattles/squeaks.
scares the crap outta me... oh and the crack stretched another 2-3 inches from the cold. ARGH!

Anyone else's car "whine" when the engine is still cool in the morning? It was "cold" in FL this morning. About 42 degrees or so. I usually turn the car on and let the rpms drop. Once they are under 1K I take off. Anyway the car seems to "whine" (sort of like mild supercharger noise) when I slow down in 1st gear / 2nd gear to a stop. Maybe its the turbo . . . Seems like its a bit more noticable than it was in the past. Maybe its just me?

I dont hear a whine. I do hear a high pitched whistle/grind noise some mornings when I crank it up. Lasts for about 5 seconds.

It's in the mail, so I don't have any pics yet...if I'm lucky it will show up on Friday, and if I get time I'll put it on over the weekend. At the least I want to try to wire it up and make sure the mirror works; it's not clear if I'll have to replace the button on the windshield or will be able to use it as is, and that will take more time to deal with.

I emailed the guy doing this eBay auction about the mirror; he suggested using the LCD from this other auction, so the color would match, and then put the hidden display glass onto it. So, it should look like the one in the hidden display auction but with a color that matches pretty closely to the one in our cars.

Good guy too, we talked over email and he put it together really quick...if it works out and people are interested you can probably just tell him to give you the same mirror and I bet he could handle it.

yay i get that too ... it only happens when your car is cold?
Mine ALWAYS does it when im down shifting 2nd to 1st... not a loud whining sound, but noticeable for sure.

its only as im still moving but slowing down and downshifting...

I'm gunna have to agree with both of you. I don't hear it at any speed increasing or when the car starts, only when downshifting into second... it's VERY light though, similar to a whine, reminds me of a plane... lmao.

Installed my Cobb SRI (purchased from MUSH) tonight; sounds so good. Will get some pics in tomorrow, and video is in the process with my friends. So I'm wondering if i should reflash with the AP from Stage 1 to Stage 1 +SF??? Any thoughts

finally got my boost gauge install completed...been busy/lazy/etc for the last month that i've had it in my car...

Got all the tools together to do the Redline Tuning QuickLift Elite install during some downtime at work...then saw that it was 13 degrees this morning. Put the tools away...

Let us all know how that is. I'm mainly interested in how the hood sits when closed with them on, and if you have to drill any holes to install the attachment points. I have a set on my Protege (different manufacturer) and both of those are things I noted with that kit.

wait you have a 93 rx7 and your saying the speed 6 pulls hard !!!

lol, my rx7 looks like this..

i have them.. the hood sits just like stock when closed..no difference.. when the hood is open it opens up alittle lower then with the pop rod.. you do have to drill 2 small holes on each side to allow the upper mounting brackets to be rivited in.. i love them..

I can say this as well. There is no change from stock.
