The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

just go to rockauto.com, they have a bunch of )oem style aftermarket) options there...

Yeah, but the oem ones lasted a whole 36k before they were noisy and now at 51k its all kinds of annoying. Hoping someone has experience wirh one and that there is a better aftermarket version.

most "aftermarket" ones are adjustable like the tripoint ones and therefore expensive, and did i mention they arent quiet either

i would still suggest getting a set of OEM designed one... they dont have to be the mazda brand but thats still what i would suggest, my 2 cents would be get the moog ones, i plan on odering a set of the Moog ones myself later this summer

I forgot to mention, I did get something done on my car last Thursday. Safelite replaced my windshield! Yay no more windshield crack!

oh yeah, another event from our trip this past weekend, got a rock chip in the windshield of the MS3 on 77S at OH-30... they are coming to my work to seal it tomorrow. always happens with our new cars, never the old ones! ggrrr ... a few months after buying my 6, which was my first brand new car in my LIFE, i got a chip in the windshield, and now this. before that i drove used cars for 25 years and no chips or cracks ... go figure.

Let me get Marlon Brando on the phone then...

you spelled it right! I wonder why people always want to spell marlon like the fish, marlin. doesn't everyone know brando??

That's one exspensive way to change your brakes

Exactly what I told him. ;)

MSM calipers are silver from the factory, and have held up pretty well so far.

Same on the wife's 3 but she wanted them black....so I painted them.

if you guys hear about a giant green thing destroying the city of pittsburgh... its just me and i turned into the hulk

my level of rage is about 99 on a scale of 1 to 10, right now.... if i werent closing on a house this week, i would go tell my boss to **** off and quit... cant do that with closing this week though

Damn dude, has it gotten any better? That was me on Saturday night though. Was soooooo close to walking out the door of my second job. Not enough money for the bs I put up with. But on the flip side things were much different on Sunday night. Only thing that pissed me off was that the bride wanted a pasta station after dessert?! WTF???? Needless to say the reception ended at 10pm, the pasta station was torn down around 10pm and the dessert bar (approx. 30 items) was torn down after that. Yeah, I punched out after 11:30!

I had the same issue with my old Mazda 6. I bought it from a dealership (the day after they got it on a trade in). The windshield was cracked and they said it would be 1 week before it was replaced. Well, I couldn't wait so I took the car home with the crack. They had Safelite replace it at my house the next week. 1 week after it was replaced, I got a freakin stone chip on 77! I was pretty mad cussing up a storm. I'm praying this doesn't happen to the MS3!! I'm going to try to never drive behind a car or truck.

:( That sux but how good ol' Murphy likes to work. Nice to hear you had some fun with the fam!!!

I have nothing to back this but I've wondered if new cars (and replacement glass) are thinner nowadays.

My neon got a HUGE rock chip from a semi and it lasted 4 years before it turned into a crack. The miata took a rock to the direct center/bottom and instantly cracked up and over (still there), same with the 2 (a few weeks into ownership and it lasted almost a year).

just really pissed/stressed today, been in a really crabby/bad mood for the last week or so (im guessing the stress of working 12-14 hours a day, balancing packing all my stuff up and taking care of all the house stuff has pushed me to the edge of breaking/snapping...)

dont get me wrong the mistake at work the one engineer ****** up, and gave me the completely wrong design parameters for a slope reconstruction, and none of the other engineers caught it til today and oh by the way this project has to go out thursday... so i go from planning my week and trying to have everything paked up for moving this weekend to s*** im going to be working stupid hours doing a totally new/redesign again cause of someone elses mistake... and yea pretty sure i was starting to turn green sitting at my desk, and no lie all i wanted to do was smash something

Appreciate the feedback!

I ordered a set of Moog endlinks for my MS3. Haven't had a chance to install them yet, but their design is much better than OEM...IMO. The oem endlinks are a PITA to install/remove. You have to stick the damn allen key in the middle and I could never get them tight enough (allen key bends too much).

I hate that endlink design. The STi ones are the same way.

Did you get them from rock auto? They are showing shipping only from Sweden. Still not expensive though.

I hear ya....buying a house is stressful enough without un-needed drama/bs from work piled on top. I've always hated moving and if we ever decide to sell this house I think I'll just leave everything in it and start over!

Got partial tuned, broke an axle, got a speeding ticket, and shoveled chicken crap. Fun stuff right there.

Good reasons to WANT the weekend to end, right there.

I'm going to try to never drive behind a car or truck.

good luck with that!! i believe this one actually came flying down from an overpass ... at least that's the trajectory it looked like ...

i ended up getting a crack in my windshield about 6+ years after the chip. it was a below freezing night and the butt end of my car was sticking out onto the sidewalk (in my driveway) and i got a ticket for it. i believe the popo picked up the windshield wiper and snapped it back down nicely onto the ticket because that's exactly where the crack was. thanks officer! : P

Did we ever find out whose MS3 went grass eating and ended up at big3? It was earlier this year.

LOL no and I just deleted the last of the pics off my phone, too!

do i dare ask how fast you were going and in what speed zone you were in? and yeah, chicken crap is pretty nasty, i was dodging it in the yard all weekend.
