The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

HAHA!! It's hard not modding a car. That's a sweet photo!

My buddy got a new S4 and that is one of the photo modes lol. I tortured the front right tire this weekend. :)

And yeah, I got a really good deal on the sway bars so I couldn't resist haha.

RaceComp Engineering 25.5mm adjustable for both the front and rear.

How tough was the front sway bar to install, Will?

I installed my Hawk HPS, tehcna-fit SS brake lines, flushed the fluid and replaced it with Wilwood 600 and painted the calipers the only acceptable OEM caliper color = black. Right, Jon? :D

do you have to get both because of the awd?

Nope, you could probably get away with replacing just one. But the balance of the car isn't bad at all from the factory so I really didn't want to upset that a ton. My goal was to obviously add much stiffer bars to control the movement of the chassis a little and switch the balance towards oversteer a little.

Piece of cake. Took me longer to take the splash shield off than to change the bar. I did mess up one of my end links putting the new front bar on, but I was planning on getting new ones anyways. :)

The biggest PITA was I had to remove the front bumper to change the turn signal bulbs in the headlights...

Good morning! How was everyone's holiday weekend? I haven't been on here since last Tuesday, took vacation days and today is my first day back. It sucks, I wanted to call in sick and just not work LOL. I can't believe how many pages there are to read in the 1 week I haven't been on here. I think I'll read them if I get bored. So I was hoping to work on my car while on vacation...that plan failed LOL. I ended up working a side job to make some extra money and didn't get a chance to install the FMIC :( I did install a Belkin Bluetooth audio adapter I bought on Amazon LOL. That took all of 30 seconds to install, tough install!!! HAHA
Although I got to work on the RX-7 I didn't get as much done as I'd hoped. Gorgeous weather down here though. I was thankful it wasn't blisteringly hot this Memorial Day as it has been in the past because I spent all day Saturday doing yardwork.

Truth! I'll concede that silver is also an acceptable color :) Although after two years of sitting my calipers are more of a dusty gray/brown.

I was watching the Indians - Reds game and it definitely did look gorgeous. Hard to believe it was still Ohio when you compared it to the Cleveland weather.

Holiday weekend was pretty good, on the way back from Vermillion (visiting relatives) i used one of the headlamps we keep in our cars to shine it's spotlight on people we saw walking around/grilling/whatever people do on memorial day weekend.
It's awesome, you set the lamp to it's most focused setting and the light goes out in the form of the diode, then you light people up from about a foot ball field away.
Also got a lot of work done on the protege:
Changed out the HVAC control with one form a newer protege (had to keep my ES' little red piece of plastic that's behind the dials, of course) got my racing harts on the car with a set of Nitto Motivos, and i spent about 5 or 6 hours sanding/polishing my headlights until they looked brand new. Couple days later they still look brand new, hopefully it stays that way.
We were looking at the Continental DWS and the Kumho ecsta 4x, but ended up deciding to give these nittos a try. The $100 adidas gift card wasn't doin' it for us -_-

Is that the autocross event at TOSU's Ackerman lot? I've been going to that recently, my cousin drives around his zo6 at that event and it's like 5 minutes away from us. Probably be a while before i actually drive my car around there though

I don't think we got out of the 60's on Saturday and Sunday. Maybe when the sun came out. Yesterday we hit the low-80's, which made working on the RX-7 slightly uncomfortable. I'll take 65 and sunny over just about any other weather.

well the 900 deal fell through he said he had to pay for some bills then maybe down the road he will have it. So I bought another dr-31 wheel from discount tire in the same specs that I have and I'm going to have it powdercoated to match the other wheels and mounted up. sooo an extra 200 I didn't want to spend. I was on the verge of ordering new wheels and tires too. I might just order the DWS anyway since they are on sale and you get a $100 adidas gift card with it because of fast 6. Don't wear adidas but I'm sure I could find something

You could always be a kind and sweet person and "pay it forward" regarding the Adidas gc. I'd be more than happy to cancel my recent order on Eastbay and then re-order using the gc. haha Orderd my son soccer cleats and shinguards for the upcoming season. He wanted the new Messi boot and they had them (the F30 version) on sale for $80. But the damn kid keeps growing and after double checking the size on last years cleats I realized he needs a 7 which puts him in men's sizes....so $105 later....lol

Nice pickup Will!

Talked to my bro-in-law and no longer need to replace brakes on the Tribute. He traded it in last Friday for a 2013 Exlporer.

Oooo I want the new S4! I was worried about the screen size, but apparently the phone's overall size is about the same at the S3, just a bigger screen. My 2-years is up in December so we'll see what's out then lol. Phone technology advances so fast these days.

Yep sure was.

That's one exspensive way to change your brakes

I forgot to mention, I did get something done on my car last Thursday. Safelite replaced my windshield! Yay no more windshield crack!

My friend and her fianc just bought a house in TN about an hour from Tail of the Dragon. Got a message today asking if id like to come down and run it with them once he finishes putting together his old SVO Mustang. Wohoo!

MSM calipers are silver from the factory, and have held up pretty well so far.
