The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Interested? Sure. But there's not a chance I'll actually be *able* to go, sadly. Are you guys coming down for the Mitty this year?

G'morning, home with our son who is sick today.

Congrats to Josh for selling the P5 and to Pablo for picking up the Bimmer...and for the 'cheap' power window fix. lol

Cool link Nate, going to check it out and will give me a good excuse to test drive a car...thinking a 2 as well or maybe the new 3 with Skyactiv.

Chris, can't hurt to call and plead your case. Seeing that you never got the letter should be in your favor, no? That would be my angle if I were in your shoes.

Damn you Chris for posting at the same time as me....lol See my post last page for friendly advice. :)

I saw it... I will try that. I never got the letter in the mail to be honest.

Edit: ugh this post is my 4,666th.... Bad sign!

No, that is for the headlights and turn signals... It looks a little limp or in the left turn spot.

It's mounted too low to be that, Chris. It does appear to be an aftermarket cruise setup.

and you can see the stock turn signal / headlight stalk above it. That's a weird looking thing for sure...

yeah, that's what i was thinking, it is kinda limp looking... i know i wouldn't mind cruse control!

I see that too. I hope it's not broken because its an otherwise nice car. At the Mazda store, there's a clean 92 with like 65k miles on it. Just a blast for less that $6k.

So I fixed the oil problem (Thanks Phen) and I decided to take the heat sheild off the exhaust manifold to see what I was getting myself into. Had to take the hot pipes off, O2 sensor out, and vwalla. The bad: My O2 sensor (the part that takes the reading) is warped, but still works and lets just say they is a little crack in the exhaust manifold. I should have never taken it off. The crack goes all the way around the one pipe area and is starting to crack around another cylinder tube as well. I think the only thing holding it together is they are bolted tightly to the head. Oh well, at least I bought that thunder mani to takes its place.

Anyone know where to get the gasket for the turbo side of the exhaust manifold?

for the turbo flange right? It's just a t2 turbo gasket but it's metal so I reused mine. I was told buy sam that it was ok to reuse

That's what I was thinking, but didn't know for sure. I i tapped the throttle to see if it was leaking and it is just a little bit then I heard something raspy in the exhaust sound. However worked on the car before I bought it never pu thte last 2 bolts back into the sxhaust manifold and there is an exhaust leak around the head to the mani. Can you tell how much I've actually tinkered with the motor. Well All of that will hopfully be fixed next weekend.
