3.5 Blazing yellow MSP
so i went by my mazda dealership yesterday to pick up my touch up paint from where the salesman nicked my sideskirt. he looked at my car and made a comment about my mileage and said bout time for an oil change. i said yeah im gonna do it myself instead of giving yall 30 bucks. he asked me what i was gonna use, so i told him mobil one. he said that these turbo cars do not like synthetic oil at all!!!! any truth to that?????

Yeah, turbo cars hate synthetic-you know-oil that resists coking and has a much better heat range, flows quicker to lubricate the turbo...LOL. Sounds like BS. I will run only synthetic in my turbo stang. It's amazing to hear the stupidity that comes from the dealer. My salesman told me that the reason the protege doesn't have much power is to extend the longevity of the motor. So, I guess the Miata won't last long-less displacement and more HP. (loser)

It's BS

Most of us MAZDASPEED owners, and most WRX owners all run either MOBIL 1 or another quality synthetic. Some people are so clueless.

heck no, thats bull!
that guy dont know jack!
i always laugh when people say that synthetic oil is bad.

i think cause i'm really lazy i'm gonna go buy some mobil take it to the dealership and tell them to put this s*** in :)

oh god, there is SOME truth to that. I remember there was a big debate about that on the subaru boards.

I believe that... I dont remeber, I used syn in my WRX and I will use it in my MSP. It is better than dino oil, but i think because it flows easier, it doesnt cool off the turbo as easily... Somethign like that...

No, the salesmen at the dealer have a wealth of knowledge and are some of the most intelligent people in the auto industry today...if it comes out of a salesman's mouth, you better believe it.

although there is a slight chance that due to some tuning factors it could be no good the the mazdas...i'm gonna stick by my other thoughts...

...if the 911 turbo can use it so can the mazdas

i have been runnin mobil1 since like 3k miles and im at 15k now.

No problems, and I dont let my car idle before shutting it off since i switched to synth.

dam your crazy!
you dont let your turbo cool down after you drive it?!
its going to fry, well good luck.

I was told that you let the turbo cool down so no oil is left in it which can leave deposits. But with synthetic oil it takes much higher temperatures to cook it and there are no deposits to be left.

just take some mobil 1 to a jiffy lube

You trust a place like that? Change your oil yourself instead of having a bunch of retarded gorrillas man-handling your car. I mean, what kind of people would you expect them to be hiring for $7-10 an hour?

i pretty much new the answer already just wanted yall to know how smart the mazdaspeed "Certified" tech at john finger is.. very good quality oil = bad for car buy the cheap s*** hahahahaha
