Strange electical problems

2007 Mazda 6i
Hi there, been some time since I have been on here. Have some unusual problems with my 2007 Mazda 6.

Wednesday night after my car had sat in the driveway all day (it was my day off) I went out to start it up and it was dead. After getting a jump from my wife it idled ok for a bit then slowed some, and I decided to turn it off since it seemed the battery was not taking the charge. Later I jumped it/started it up again and it ran fine. I took a dmm to the battery terminals and saw around 14.4v, but the voltage was jumping up and down at least .15v. (Fyi, this has stopped since replacing the battery). We also noticed that my hazard lights/fog lights (the yellow ones) were all on once the battery was charged, but only if the car was not running. We decided to get a new battery which I installed today.

Now, with the new battery installed the car starts/runs fine, but there continues to be some problems. They are:

-The hazard lights continue to stay lit if the car is off, and sitting there. They are off if the car is running. I have removed that fuse for now..

-The lights do not blink for turn signals, hazards, etc.

-The power locks (and obviously then key remote) do not function.

-The interior lights do not come on when the doors are open, and the switch above the center console is in that position.

Everything else (electrically speaking) I could think to check worked ok. I checked the fuses pretty thoroughly, and also swapped a couple sets of the matching relays back and forth to see if that changed any of the problems. It did not.

Any ideas?:(

thanks for any help

Ben

Crap..Any ideas? I would really rather not take it into the damn Mazda dealership where i would get to pay 200 bucks for a 30 dollar part and 90 bucks an hour for labor..

answer: MTOL - 5248.

After some lengthy reasearch had come to the conclusion it was probably the bcm since everything else seemed intact. 530 bucks later after a visit to the con shop (don miller mazda) they confirmed and its fixed. Requested the old bcm and after opening found it full of corrosion. Re-seated and silicon'ed the hell out of the gasket for the hood release cable. Good to go-I hope..

Mine did the same thing about 6 months ago. I'm glad I opted for the warranty when I bought the car. Apparently now that I'm searching on it, it's a common issue? Wow.
