Snow Day!!!!

I went in with no problems...lol, but that's because I don't have the Protege anymore. There were lots of fender benders and inappropriate vehicles on the road. It always irks me when I see a car without the windows or lights cleared off. The just drive with a small defroster hole in the windshield. Makes me want to run them off the road....they wouldn't even know what hit them.....idiots.

Made it to work here in York PA, about 4"+. I'm on 205/65R16 Kumho I'ZEN snows. No big hills, but the roads to the highway were not plowed when I left the house.

I took the day off. My roads weren't even touched and the kids were off school anyway. Supposed to get freezing rain and more snow on top of this.

I made it in, and Im pissed I did. I have nothing to do, because my job requires me to do alot of raod work, and we are not leaving the plant today. :sigh:

I can do the important stuff from home, if I need to. But nobody else is in at my work...so why bother! I wish I had 3 more snow tires! My spare is a artic aplin!

Gonna get a ride in tomorrow though and work a later shift.

I am seriously considering trading this car in for a wrx...I can't take this anymore...Do snow tires really make a difference! Someone talk me out of it!

The only benefit that a 4wd car will have in the snow is a better ability to get moving. Otherwise, no benefit in braking or turning. Just get a set of steelies and some winter tires if you are having problems driving in this snow.

I came into work in Springfield VA. yesterday on my stock tires and had no problems...you just have to drive methodically. I haven't been able to justify snow tires, but I hear they make a world of difference.
