The SS... Hmmm... I test drove one for the hell of it at Reeder Chevrolet in Knoxville, TN 1 month ago this Saturday. It is a big heavy terd, that stickered for $42K. It has a lot of power, but unfortunately it has a lot of weight as well. There's no telling how much power they are loosing through the All-wheel drive system in that thing. It was a heavy b****, that needed to be a regular car with a supercharger and RWD. Sort of like the Lightning.
As for people who don't understand fast trucks... It's quite obvious that you've never owned one. I recently sold my 1989 Chevy Full Size that I owned for 13 years. It never had any sort of major problem, just normal maintenance. 6 years ago, the somewhat anemic 305ci V8 was rebuilt from the crank up, as a very forged 350,

. I ran a 75 Dry shot of N20 for 2 years, then went with a 150 wet shot for ~8 months or so (followed by 3 months of a 250 shot). No problems whatsoever. It could tow 7,000 pounds and was civil enough to drive everyday. In case you're wondering, a low 13 (high 12's on slicks) second truck can beat a lot of fast cars, especially around here where the thinking is loud=fast.
Now I drive a truck that is *cough* WAS *cough* electronically governed to 87.7 MPH. Damned Ford/Mazda and their trickery! lol
