Whta you guys think. Not a bad looking Pickup. It's not the Harley Pickup but still good.

They also are goin to have a Tahoe SS and a Trailblazer SS. Tahoe and Trailblazer will be 350HP, and the silverado will be 395. OK looking, but I like that new SVT lightning concept... 500 HP and doesn't weigh nearly as much as the ram. However the yellow seat are kinda dumb.

i've driven the ss silverado. i want one, i believe it is all wheel drive also. yummy supercharger would be next. later guys.

i myself would drive a lightning or a harley davidson. I like em both. that ss is too damn square. Also that ford tonka truck is pretty tight.

Why the hell would anyone buy a truck to go fast?

just cause it's unexpected. A lightning will beat a corvette pretty good.

Yea, if my bf sells his car soon (before they are sold out) he will be getting a 03 Harley F150. Hes already got all the mods planned and it will run 12s quite easily -- and for not alot of $$ either.

If the 03's sell out, and the 04 Harley's cant even compare to the 02-03's .. he might get a HEMI Ram 1500 QC.

Pe@ce

Stupid.

Not as stupid as the Lightning, however (even though the Lightning is considerably faster) because the SS comes with an extra cab, and AWD, but still costs 40 THOUSAND DOLLARS!.

yeah man, having a fast pickup truck is like those guys who race riding lawnmowers on ESPN late at night......it's just dumb. I couldn't own an american truck....my dad bought 3 of them in my life (most recently 1998) and none of them lasted more than 2 years before having major meltdowns.

2 words in the fullsize pickup world......Nissan Titan.

As for the SilveradoSS, I'd love to roll in that truck. I have 3 roomates that all have full sized trucks, and there is something nice about driving them (whole diffrent type of satisfaction than the MP5), but I wouldnt want to give up the proformance edge. The SilveradoSS would kill both birds. Now the Dodge SRT 10, (I know you all hate Dodge but I give a damn!) that is one bad ass truck.

Obviously a lot of ignorant comments regarding trucks on here. I've yet to see a Cummins Turbo Diesel engine have a "major meltdown" as someone stated above. The average life span of a diesel engine is much more than a regular gasser engine. It all boils down to the truck you buy. If you get the cheapest full size pickup with the smallest engine available, it's going to fall apart.

And why would someone buy a quick truck? It's nice seeing the look on someones face when they try to pass you on the right and they can't get by your rig because they don't have enough torque!

Believe me, i'm not narrow minded at all when it comes to vehicles, but people really should do their homework before making comments like these.

yeah but trucks are meant to haul stuff around.....these "high performance" trucks have little or no towing capacity (about as much as a Honda Accord). I'd never own any truck that couldn't pull a jet ski or a boat.

The SS... Hmmm... I test drove one for the hell of it at Reeder Chevrolet in Knoxville, TN 1 month ago this Saturday. It is a big heavy terd, that stickered for $42K. It has a lot of power, but unfortunately it has a lot of weight as well. There's no telling how much power they are loosing through the All-wheel drive system in that thing. It was a heavy b****, that needed to be a regular car with a supercharger and RWD. Sort of like the Lightning.

As for people who don't understand fast trucks... It's quite obvious that you've never owned one. I recently sold my 1989 Chevy Full Size that I owned for 13 years. It never had any sort of major problem, just normal maintenance. 6 years ago, the somewhat anemic 305ci V8 was rebuilt from the crank up, as a very forged 350, :) . I ran a 75 Dry shot of N20 for 2 years, then went with a 150 wet shot for ~8 months or so (followed by 3 months of a 250 shot). No problems whatsoever. It could tow 7,000 pounds and was civil enough to drive everyday. In case you're wondering, a low 13 (high 12's on slicks) second truck can beat a lot of fast cars, especially around here where the thinking is loud=fast. ;)

Now I drive a truck that is *cough* WAS *cough* electronically governed to 87.7 MPH. Damned Ford/Mazda and their trickery! lol

My truck will easily tow 16,000lbs. and simultaneously carry a 3/4 ton payload in the bed. Unloaded it will outaccelerate just about any sports car on the highway and I still get close to 20MPG. With a little tuning it can easily run 12's on Diesel Fuel.

I agree that trucks like the Lightning, SS, and SRT-10 have very little practical use, but there are many better truck options out there.

So I take it you finally got the chip to remove that pesky speed limiter? :)
