SELL MSP or UPGRADE

hey, seeking advice.
Stock 03 orange MSP. Never done any mods besides audio, due to so much negative feedback on what it takes to mod the msp without nighmares.
Only mod i'm considering is the UNICHIP. But some people still report issues, like fuel cutoff and such.
I want to be able to run with a stock srt4 and not look like a fool, or even still look like i'm in the race with an evo, and not look like i'm being passed while driving at normal speeds.
I'm at the point of hating the car (though i love the damn thing).
Its paid off, so a new car payment would suck, but i'm contemplating evo sti.
Here is teh question:
IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO GET THE MSP WHERE I WANT WITH AS MINOR A HEADACHE AS POSSIBLE, OR SHOULD I JUST DUMP IT AND BUY SOMETHING FAST OUT OF THE BOX?
Your help will be very appreciated, cause i'm at the brink to make a decision of just leaving her completely stock and not waste my money, cause this car seems beyond help of boltons.
Thanks in advance

Get an Evo you cant go wrong with that, more power tons more potential, better handling, and better overall vehicle. My opinion and real world facts.

You cant be serious? Do you reasearch.

it was to prove that paper numbers mean nothing to me.... along with pretty much all the nonsense that has been written in this thread.

and I guess I don't know how to "reasearch". I guess a person (normal, one who doesn't feel the need to try to inflate their ego) looking at cars is a fool for "researching" on a very popular internet infocenter, edmunds.com. Those numbers were taken directly from there. You go research them yourself.

As someone has already pointed out, at the end of the day, it is a motorized vehicle designed to move you from A to B. You guys are obviously SO enthused about your cars that it is not good enough talk your crap on your own forums, but feel compelled to go to other forums and "spread the good word". Preach on then!!!! And please refer to the quote from post #20

If you would excuse me, I am going to go take my sunday drive. I find more enjoyment driving my car than spending the rest of the day going to find some srt-4 forum and tell them how my car is better. I suppose you never saw the humor in all of this thread and how pathetic it really is to say "I can piss farther than you".

Mods, can you please close this thread, or somthing, b/c I don't want to lose another second of my life, that I will never get back, from reading (and writing :)) more b.s. that is not actually helping the guy who originally started this thread.

Then I guess we can agree,

Speed, power and handling > you.

Just for reference I went to a SRT meet in Dallas, a friend with a MSP with intake, Cat-back, and Greddy Profec b, was embarrased to dyno when it was his turn. All attempts by us to get him to run to at least see where his car was at, resulted in him getting embarrased. Hes a good guy but still got left by 5+ cars by a stock SRT.

He called us pissed one day saying he was going to sell his car because he was beat by a KIA Sonata.....

a intake catback and boost controller wont do s*** to a stock MSP. tell your friend he doesnt know how to mod and let me race you at 14psi... anyways (deadhorse (deadhorse (deadhorse ya upgrade the msp.

the MSP sucks stock power wise, what can you do, his mods weren't that great to help. Life goes on

He should have dynoed just to see where his car was at. He was pushing 10psi, Whats stock 6?

just so you guys know, just because a sedan is turbo'ed and a 4 cyl, doesnt mean its an apples to apples comparison.

A better comparison would be the Mazda 3s actually, because it actually has a 2.3L which is more comparable to a 2.4L SRT-4 wouldnt you agree? And with a turbo bolted to that they layed down 375whp on stock internals... you act like its a ******* miracle that SRT-4's are soo good with the power... you have a bigger engine, a bigger turbo, an actual FMIC that doesnt heat soak and we are supposed to give a s*** when you say its faster stock for stock? NO s*** SHERLOCK.

My buddy has a stage2 and gets his ass handed to him every time against me.

Your going to have to come stronger than 10psi, two subs and an amp.

he doesn't have the mods to really support it, he still has SMIC that heat soaks real quick, the stock ECU that makes the car hesitate, stock dp and midpipe with 2 cats which Restrict alot air flow, stock plastic pipes which feel like a woofle bat and bad motor mounts. stock boost is like 6.5 -7 ish.

Not only saying stock to stock but mod for mod. The original poster asked what would be better, to upgrade his current vehicle, or go with another with more potential, and better overall stock performance.

Your argument about the Mazda 3 is null and void as it pertains to a modded 2.3 which not everyone has the money or desire to do so. 375 on stock internals, for how long? Turbo size and total cost? Yeah....

Hmmm. Might also have to add that he has heavy 18" chrome wheels as well. I'll have to have a talk with him. (uhm)

yeah 18s are no good cause of the weight, i persoanlly went to 16s cause the're lighter

I opted for 17's although there the same diameter as stock, their an inch wider and 3lbs lighter.
