See they cant see all up in my window xD

Its a safety issue for the officers out there apparently.

This has always been a bulls*** excuse for the municipality to generate revenue beyond taxes. The reason it's bulls*** is that certain vehicles (SUVs, vans, limos) are exempt. What, only people in passenger cars are capable of pulling a gun on a cop whereas SUV occupants are always law-abiding citizens? It's because celebrities/politicians/dignitaries don't want to be spotted while being chauffeured around town. If every type of vehicle was subject to tint laws, I wouldn't have a problem with the safety excuse.

nice tint

Nice tint !! I think that the tint looks amazing on white cars in general but even more so on a ms3.. i've been contemplating putting 25% or 30% (depending on quote) on my true red , but I think Texas legal is like 35? ughhh

Damn Matt, I was hoping you could get yours first so I can decide whether or not I want to go 20% in the rear. It was a thought I had..but I think i'll stick to my original plan of 35%.

Haha I was thinking the same to decide about 35%, alright I'll just go 20% around.

I even considered not tinting the front windows, just to stay legal, and do 20% on the rear windows, sorta like an SUV has it setup. Wouldn't be too bad looking IMO.

My buddy had 5% tint on his Jetta. He would just roll his windows down so the officer could see in. It's rare, atleast around here, for people to get ticketed for window tint.
KY also has pretty lenient tint laws

around here they can and will pull you over for the tint

I just found this though: http://dmv.dc.gov/info/forms/vehicle_tint_waiver_pdf.shtm (naughty)

Cops dont need to see in your car at all times but if your getting pulled over and roll down your windows before they approach I dont see why it should be a problem.
that's cool, but what if you get pulled over in 12 degree weather, or in a rainstorm?

the problem is that if they cant see in your car (especially from the rear) how are they to know what you are doing in there when you get pulled over? How do they know you're not reaching under the seat to stash drugs or to pull out a gun and surprise them...

Its definitely for their safety so its understandable that there are laws in place against this...ya know?
