~swap the powertrain from the msp in and keep your dad's car....build a new protege....stay away from stinky nissans, toyotas, hondas (blech) and uninspired yank-tank garbage (and whatever you do, don't buy an australian made GM car rebadged as a whatever you call them there - they drive like boats, made from crap, sailing in a hurricane.....you want another protege....yes yes you do~
i kinda feel your pain...mine's down *again*.... wife got rear ended this afternoon - another 2wks while the insurance company fixes the thing...new beaver panel, rear apron and so forth now required.......
I am still in shock! Your car does not look much worse than mine when I wrecked it! Mine was about 9k in repairs to get her back to new. Looks like you have a damaged rad and a/c condenser which I did not. I did have damage to every panel on the car though due to uprooting a tree and going threw some thick brush. But this was in '06 my car had ~30k mi and was stock so it is hard to compare. I wish I could find my pics so I could post one....

it was my car before my MSP. i definitely feel your pain on losing your MSP, Cindy, because this is how my baby wound up.

I think that was the catch -- my MSP had 92K miles, so it was only worth $8500 by the black book. Once the adjuster hit $7500 worth of damages with more still left to add .. that was that.

And here are my final MSP pics. My mom took a lot, but I could only find a few where I'm not making absolutely horrible faces -- cause I'm not about to post Here's Cindy In Crazy Tears shots. Yikes.
Oh, and excuse the effin' time stamps. I HATE time stamps, but if my mom doesn't use 'em, she can never remember when she took the pictures.

looks like they let you swap the wheels?
Yep, thank God. Summer wheels weren't in the greatest shape and the tires were basically shot. I should be able to give the winter setup a good new home for a northern MSP.

I'd definitely take them off your hands if I didn't have my god awful steels... actually, I think my winter tires are on their last season, so if you've got em come next fall, I may still...

I'm prolly gonna try to sell 'em now -- though I doubt many people will bite since it's so close to spring. So keep an eye out for a FS thread in about six months.
They're 16" x 7" .. The tires on the rear (Pirelli 210 Snow Sports) have a couple seasons left, but the tires on the front (Hankook Winter iPikes) are only two months old!What size are the winter wheels?? I might be interested
And again, while I greatly appreciate everyone's offer to help get me back into a (built) Protege -- the decision to NOT buy my MSP back as salvage has ALREADY BEEN MADE. As in, I signed the title back over to my insurance company, the car is no longer mine, done and done.

if I end up doing something stupid and immature like burning off what is left of my snow tires at some burnout comp... I will probably get ahold of you before you post up a FS. Its more a question of funding than timing... I've got more than enough space to store them.

winter tires will burn up pretty quick if you're running them on dry pavement consistently...
