Rishie's FITMENT RECIPE

offset is how far the hub is from the center of the wheel. a positive offset means the hub is more towards the outside of the wheel. a negative offset means the hub is more towards the inside of the wheel.

spacers will move the ENTIRE wheel out towards the fender. they are good when your tires are rubbing on your springs/struts or for fine tuning the look of the wheel on the car.

He needs at least a 45mm offset... and you're right spacers will make it worse. He'll be riding on fenders with lowering springs.

Even on the sedan? He says he has 17x7 with a +42 offset on it now. With the offset calculator someone posted somewhere on here it said the new wheels would stick out 11mm more, which is quite a bit when its already close to the fender. :(

spacers increase offset. offset is how far the hub is from the center of the wheel. a positive offset means the hub is more towards the outside of the wheel. a negative offset means the hub is more towards the inside of the wheel.

From what I can understand a spacer would only put the hub of the wheel closer to the center, thus decreasing the offset. Which is no good.

I know its confusing lol. Basically the lower the offset the more the wheel will stick out, a spacer will only stick it out more.

yeah s***, i dunno what i was thinking. spacers are completely different. i was stating what offset acually is. spacers will offset the ENTIRE wheel.

See that confused me at first too, because if you look at the spacer on the hub it almost seems as it would, but you gotta think it as part of the rim. This guy at the rim shop seems to know his stuff though, and he said it would fit, I mean its only going to stick out 11mm more... I would think it wouldn't matter as long as the tires don't tuck in the wheel well, which his don't. He just won't be able to have anyone in the rear seats without rolling the fenders? I mean yeah... they WILL fit, but what will it look like and how close to the fender will it be? lol

They probably just tell everyone anything will fit.

EDIT: What about these... 17" Enkei RPM2 Wheels / Rims w/ 215/45R17 Kuhmo Ecsta AST (+45mm offset)

Only problem I see there is those tires will need replaced soon so that needs to be factored into the cost. Well that and possible fitment issues?

It's actually 13mm further out .52" he will rub in turns no doubt even with rolled fenders. My last two sets of wheels needed an extra 5mm machined off the backside. I have a machine shop at work which made it easy for me. Maybe an option...just dont take too much and be sure the machinist indicates the wheel in properly.

I need to pull about .5" then roll my fenders. 17x8.5 44mm offset will put me just right tucked between my coilovers and my fenders. 235/40/17 either bfg kdws or falken rt-615 and most likely enkei rpf1's.

Those have the wrong bolt pattern for a P5 or MSP. You want 5 x 114.3

Alright, thanks for the info... I'm sure his "rim guy" didn't check the specs on the rim, probably could got away with a +42 tho huh.

Its a 4 lug sedan, thanks tho. 4 lugs fail lol.

I've got 42 offset 17x7 205 40 17's with Eibach prokit and tokico blues lowered bout 1.2" no rub ever.

Confirmed... +45 offset on a 17"x7" with 215/45/17 is spot on. Couldn't get a better fit, I'm talking pretty much perfect here... :P

yeah, 16x6. offset is +50 i believe...

aight so i finally got around to installing my wheels. Work Emotion XT-7 18x7.5 +48 with Nitto NT555 extreme 225/35R18.

I had doubts about putting the 225's on there if they would rub or not but i said might as well try. and they JUST fit. took it for a few mile drive and i didn't experiance any rub.

on all 4 wheels i can just barely squeeze half my finger tip between the tire and my BC racing coilovers spring perch going from both the top of the wheel and the bottom of the wheel.

Fenders: on the fronts, it looks like i could have gotten away with a +45 or even a +42 to make it look a little better and give room between the coilovers. but that might would have rubbed slightly with the wheel turned.

on the rears, the fenders are extremely close, again i can get only half my fingertip between them. but it looks like they JUST clear them. so I'd say the combo i have on the rear is the max you can go without roilling the fenders.

once these tires are shot i'll have to see what other tires fit as well.

heres some bad cell phone pics. i'll get some tomorrow with my camera
