Question About Intake..

mine is the gay ass EBAY intake... so i shud get the AEM SRI.... will that make a difference.. and also wats better CAI or SRI for pro 5s..

If you have the money, go with the the Injen CAI. I am not knocking the AEM but the filter is too close to the fans and the air gets hot. For the time being if you can't buy the CAI. Buy a K&N filter but don't get the dual cone if possible. Or a legit AEM or Injen filter that has a 3 inch inlet.

You don't have to bolt that down. I just zip tied it to the lines behind it to hold in place. As long as the lines and the clip is pluged in it should be no problem.

yep that is what i did. just though maybe he pulled a hose off it. honestly, how else can you screw up an intake install- it isn't a hard upgrade. must be a vacuum hose loose somewhere...

People forget to plug the MAF or the IAT. Or the upper vacuum hose and the worst was someone put the MAF in backwards. So yea some ppl don't what to do and things can go wrong.

evrything is installed correctly im not a dumbass its just my car is losing power and i dont know why .... evrything is hooked up correctly i had it checked by a proffesional pro 5 guy and he sed evrything looked ggood ..... by the way doesnt CAI suk in water wen it rains??

tsekaos- don't be offended by anyones post- noone is calling you a dumbass, and i am sure noone is even implying it. we are trying to come up with a solution for you.

If you drive into a huge puddle then yea it might. But aem sells something that goes in between so if that happens your car wont stall or suck up water. I can't think of the name but I'm sure someone will. I am not saying you installed it improperly, I was just stating some of the things I have heard and seen. Also the stock intake is better for torque and the aftermarkets are supposed to help with the high end. At Low end the stock will bring in colder air and in the high end it doesn't bring enough air to the motor. The SRI at lowend brings warmer air thus less power but at high end it brings more air to the motor for more power.

that's the bypass valve

i have a 3" ebay intake on my p5, and i haven't even gotten a k&n filter yet. haven't had any trouble. i sure don't think that that is your problem. man, i haven't a clue- expired all my thoughts on the subject. good luck

Explains the typing. I've been running an ebay cold air intake for several months now. Driven through some pretty rough storms. Car is still alive and kicking. Just avoid huge puddles.

You should not have lost power.. not unless you messed something else up. Try reinstalling the stock airbox.. if you gain back the lost time, then you know its the intake.

^^Yea you could do that.

Just get he K&N filter and see what happens. 2 inches is too small. Try to find one that is 2 3/4 inch if you want to change.
