Lug nut pattern and what wheels will fit

:
'03.5 MSP(Yellow!)
Hey, I had an idea to get 2 stickies for the upcoming track season, so I'll need some wheels. There are a lot of wheels floating around my area for very little $$$. I just need to know what the bolt pattern is on our cars. Also, what's the smallest diameter wheel that will fir around the brakes? Like you guys with steelies and snow tires, what sizes did you get and where did you get them? Also, what are the smallest, and more importantly, largest widths that can fit? I've got some 15" stickies from the spec miata I can use, so I'd love to be able to use them and not have to buy new tires:-) Thanks guys!

Bolt pattern is 5x114.3

Personally the smallest I would go with is a 15" wheel, but there are a few users with 14" steelies for the winter. I'm sure others will chime in with more tire size info.

I have 15" steelies for winter, and I don't know how people used 14". They barely clear the calipers.

im lookin at some 300zx wheels to put 245/45/16 nitto or bfg radial drag tires on it...i just need to figure out if it will fit...may need spacers....not alot of offset infor on here thou

I have a pair of 300zx wheels that I used for autox. They are 16 x 7.5, sorry I already sold the 16 x 8.5 rears. PM me if you are interested in buying them. I can dig up the bolt pattern and offset info, too.

I don't know how they do it either. I believe that Newf is running 14". Personally i'd probably stick with the 15's.

the 16x7.5 300zx rims have a +35 or +30 offset if i remeber correctly..i had a set on my old 240sx so i remeebr :) and they are 5X114.3. did u have them mounted on ur protege? what tire size?

The Nissan 300zx 16 x 8.5 REAR twin turbo wheels are +35 offset. The 16 x 7.5 FRONT twin turbo and all 300zx NA wheels are +45 offset. I'm checking on the bolt pattern.

Ok, Tire Rack claims they are 5 x 114.3 bolt pattern.

uh, ok...i guess i got a special set of na ones.....either way...as i stated above..they are 5x114.3

5x114.3 is a very common bolt pattern. If you're looking to go the cheap route, you could get some used stock wheels from an older mazda. Wheels from any mx6, 626, rx7, or ford probe should fit provided they have the correct offset. Also Nissan and Mistubishi used that same bolt pattern on the eclipse, maxima, and probably others.

What is the offset of the stock MSP wheels, anyhow? BTW they are some of the best stock wheels I have ever seen!

stock wheels are +40 offset. as a side note, im currently crounded cause my buddy hit a car with a snowball, then ran, and the lady came after me... I was like wtf!! durn!
Anyways thanks for the great info....And 5x114.3 is NOT a very common wheelsize. I went to a wheel shop today and they had trouble even finding wheels that would fit. And they're a real good shop, very knowledgable guys. Ima see if I can find some older mazda rims, if anyone happens to know the offset for older mazda rims of any type, that'd be greatly appreciated. And maybe some of the nissan rims?
peace.

Damn, +55mm? Are you sure? I've never heard of an offset that high.

I would consider 5x114.3mm a common wheel size if it's used on lots of mazda, nissan, lexus is300, Ford Mustang, etc, etc. Perhaps you should have told them 5x4.5inch (same measurement)

...and damn, yeller. I wish I could have had a car like an MSP when I was your age. I drove an old rusty buick in high school.

I'm just 17 man! And yeah, I'm damn lucky. The only reason I was able to get this car is because my dad races spec miatas, so we get employee pricing through mazda USA(we're sponsored by mazda, on a low level). So that's cool. Anyways, I could have sworn(sp?) that they were +40... I actually can't remember where i heard that from..hmm..o well, yeah the whole deal with the offest is because I'm autocrossing. i'd just pick up some wheels without worrying about it, but I wanna stay in stock class, and the tires can't stick out past the sidewalls. thanks for clearing up the offset issue. Ima start cruising junkyards again

oh ,and btw, i can't even see what picture I have up there, my monitor is too dark to see much of anything. I hope my brother didn't change the picture again. he likes to screw with my stuff.
