Well after doing even more searching for certain reasons.... apparently the quaife is NOT a normal Torsen... it is a Torsen type... but is actually an ATB differential...

Whilst requiring some torque in the slipping wheel, the QUAIFE unit is progressive in action but never locks controlled power is transmitted to all the driving wheels. Which gets the quaife around the issue I mentioned above that IS an issue with a true Torsen.
