LinuxRacr's Haltech E6X Log..

..Well, your plugs anyway..

Remember a few posts back when I said my heat range 7 Iridium Plugs (NGK BKR7EIX) were fouled? Well, I wasn't kidding:

I now have the BKR6EIX plugs in my car, gapped a lot closer (.22).

Actually you have the ZFR6FIX. MSP plugs but in Iridium.

Tunning done! I just got home, and I must say I can finally step on the gas hardcore with no fear! I hadn't had my car up to over 130 mph in a long time till tonight. :D I stepped on it in 5th gear, and went all the way to 130. At first, we were having problems with my trigger setup. For some reason, the RPM's were all ****** up. He found a setting in my trigger setup that was off, but and changed it, but the change wouldn't take at first. Then he had to turn my key off, and turn it back on to reset the E6X. After that no more of the annoying poping sounds, and stumbles. It was something having to do with the Motronic filter or something... He changed the value from 0 to 1, and put the reluctor gain to 3. Now it was time to tune. My car is running 8 PSI right now, and is pulling good all the way! It is a little rich for safety, but it was running like right around 12 all the way! On the way back, the temps dropped 5 degrees, and I was a little richer, but it still pulled pretty damn good. He suggested that I get rid of my MAF, because it is a restriction. I should get some good gains out of that. We were also able to drill and tap my intake piping to put the air temp sensor in so it wasn't just hanging off. Another thing we found out was that my MAP sensor signal was kind of irratic. He said I needed a more steady boost signal. Where I have it now is right on top of the nipple on the intake manifold (where cruise control hooks up on other cars). Ahmad, don't relocate yours there. I can say my car is accually fun to drive again!!

In hindsight folks, you do NOT want the reluctor gain set above 1!!!

thats great Pat!

its looking more and more like I'll be coming down for the weekend.

Forgot to mention as well that my ignition timing was off by as much as 17 degrees. He had to zero it out before we could get started.

wow. good to see you are happy once again. Any idea of how much your putting down? Cant wait till you put in the intercooler and get her dynoed and run at the track.
Also, you gonna get Nick's amp and distributer to help out spark?

Steve "estimated" 210-220 WHP with my small-ass intercooler, and 8 PSI. He could have got more out of my car, but time was against us. I'm pretty happy with how the car is pulling.

Mr Corky Bell designed that "small ass intercooler" to support 250whp
it may not be huge, but it is UBER effiecient

When I say small, I am referring in relation to how much of it is behind the bumper.

hey patrick, i'd like to see a copy of your map. i am guessing you will need to adjust the Fuel Air Correction bars yourself or as it gets colder/warmer you will be running very very rich

congrats on your new found power.....(yippy) glad to hear everything is working. (cool)
