JIC Coilovers?

i was on protege5 online and saw in the new products list that some more coilovers are coming out.. does anyone know any other ones besides the ground control and skunk2 that are coming out or that are out, links if possible please? Saw JIC in the list...

so far:

skunk2 - $349
ground control - $372

Im sorry...but those AWR's are the worst excuse I've ever seen at a true coil-over system (notcool) (notcool)

In my opinion you would be better off going with some ground controls and your stock struts.

The AWR's are hard to adjust and very noisy. Just ask DJHYPER about them...

No ill feelings toward AWR racing...it was a decent attempt at a coil-over system... its just now there are much better alternatives.

JIC is the s***. IF you can afford it and want the best lowered ride quality along with the best handling, JIC is your only option.

They allow you to lower the vehicle without sacrificing ride quality/suspension travel. Let me know if you're interested. We're using the JIC's on our cars. They're so amazing. I can drift my car now. Best FWD car I've ever driven.

These out ride and handle Mazdaspeed's and HR's as well as MP3 Tokikos and GC's as well.

LEt me know if interested,

We have a promotional pricing. They list for $1850.00 include camber plates and pillowballs front and rear.

ILP Performance on another protege board is advertising TEIN suspension for $1300 i think.

too bad both JIC and TEIN are SO FRICKIN' expensive ... i need new struts ...

what's Santa's email addy again?! :)

The tein's will not compare to these JIC's. There's a reason they are cheaper.

The JIC's are a monotube coilover with a larger piston diameter. They are fully anodized aircraft aluminum shock bodies. Apples to oranges.

For struts themselves you might want to go with the KYB GR2's I guess.

the only reason that TEINs or cheaper is that they dont come with upper mounts, and i have TEINs and there is nothing wrong with them but i am ordering the JIC 505ST exhaust to go with the teins so its all good

If you like the Teins, you'd love the JIC's. I was thinking the same way abou the Tein vs. JIC debate and hands down the JIC's will take the cake. After riding in Rishie's P5 and riding in Sean's MP3, both fitted with JIC FLT-A2 Coilovers and both times I was amazed. The Teins are great if you just want to be able to say that you have an adjustable coilover kit. But the JIC's are the s*** anyone that says that aren't has to ride in a car with JIC's to understand.

The only difference is not even close to being just the upper mount. And I'm not knocking the Tein. If that's all you can afford then that's all you can afford. But I'd rather spend a few hundred more dollars to get what the JIC's will give you.

Here's an illustration:

There's a big difference. Namely the independent preload and ride height as well as the inverted monotube as well as the included camber plates as well as the material of the casing. The monotube vs. twin tube damper are major in my opinion. The other benefit is definitely the independent ride height and preload. In other words you ride quality/handling will not be adversely affected when slamming your car.

The lack of the uppermount, but is an option. This retails for $1350.00 while the JIC retails for $1880.00.

Now at your club pricing you would pay at the least about $1200.00 to $1250.00. Now the JIC's you would get for around $1600.00 to $1650.00 as your club deal. Now if you were to add one set of pillowball mounts/camber plates to the Tein you would be in the ballpark of the JIC. But still not have independent ride height and preload, nor pillowball in the rear, nor a cadmium plated coating, nor a monotube damper. The JIC's are an incredible bargain.

I hope this was informative.

Thanks for sharing Rishie, very informative. I am definetly sold on the JICs now. It's worth the wait and the money I'll need to save to get them.
