I guess I finally did it too + two?!

I hit the racoon with the underside.... Fur and such is stuck to the crossmember in the rear.

Looks like I'll be getting a new back window installed soon. Some ******* asshole broke the back window of the Miata last night. Out to take pictures....

Ok here is the picture. Tomorrow I am going to go to the insurance office to file a claim. I already had the police come down and take my statement/write a report. I'll also be heading to the main office of my apartment complex to attempt to break lease. I've had enough of my personal property being vandalized by the people who live here.

Either that or I execute my military clause and get "new orders".

Run down of what happened. I went out for a bite to eat and came home around 6-7pm~ish and parked the car. Around 10-11pm~ish I heard something that sounded similar to a pellet gun going off. I don't know if they are related, but I dismissed it since I heard nothing from it. I woke up this morning to get some early food shopping done and I noticed the window was broken out. **** New London.

That sux Chris....hopefully you have no issues with insurance getting it fixed.

$500.00 deductible ftl..... However, it's considered 0% liability so my insurance won't go up. That's the good news for the day.

Sooo I got off the phone with insurance company and the whole top will be replaced. I wonder if I can convince them to get a cloth top instead of a vinyl one. Hmmm......

That deductible does suck but lower premiums in return so..... At least it's 0% liability and might as well inquire about the top. All they can say is no or cut you a check and you may have to pay the difference.

Actually, over the phone the lady said the top would be replaced since the glass window is sown in. I'll find out tomorrow when I take it in for an estimate.

I also said the MS6's windshield was hit too. That's going to cost me 50 bucks.

Dropped the car off at the shop this morning and it looks like I'll be getting a new top. I also pointed out a spot on the right rear quarter panel where it looks it was hit with something. It's definitely not a door ding. I mentioned it in the police report so it will be fixed as well. They are also looking into possibly fixing the spot on the trunk lid.

I also got a rental... Since I am paying for coverage anyway...

Woooohooo!

Update on the Miata:

They are replacing the top and since the car was in such wonderful shape, low miles, and great condition there was no depreciation value assigned. Full replacement!

They are also going to fix the spot on the trunk lid and blend it in. There were a few chips on the side of the vehicle which were deemed to have happened from the glass breaking. That's going to be fixed as well.

Best news is.... I should have the car back by Friday.

Update on the MS6:

Windshield replaced but I was denied OEM glass. It looks ok, but there are a few waves. Each side where it curves to meet the pillars and one up top in the center where the rear view mirrah is.

Sweet! (regarding the MSM)

Bummer (regarding the MS6)

I've never seen non-factory glass that looked right. I'm tall so I look through the top of the glass when I drive and that's where there are often issues. It makes me car sick to ride in my mother's car that has non-factory glass. I always demand it on my cars and so far it hasn't been a problem. I don't know why they wouldn't give it to you on the MS6. I got factory glass on my P5 when it was 5 years old.

Great news re: the MSM and sux about the MS6. Did they happen to say why denied OEM glass?

Too much. The difference of OEM glass vs. the PPG glass I got was a lot. However, parts and labor would have cost me more than 600 bucks if I paid for it.

Haha another update.. I just got an email for the estimate: $2,938.00

VRM FTW.
