queston about hid, do you have to worry about them gettin to hot and burning or melting anything?? or do they run cooler than the halogen bulbs?

nice right up by the way.

no burning or melting... HID bulbs are only 35watts where aftermarket bulbs are 55~120watts(anything higher than stock will give you problem soon or later).
our factory bulb is 55 watts.

last Question, i have a hid kit 9006 bulb style , been lying around work for the longest because it didnt work on a 9007 style because it didnt have a relay kit.. can i get it to work with the setup in the protege? i mean i got the balast and ignitor and bulb, with all wiring.. for free..

protege 5 high beam is 9006 isn't it? you could hook it straight up to that..

i have a 3rd gen 2000 protege.. i think it is like H7 or h4 for my car, lemmi check..
edit, stock is h4..

OKAy, i JUST iNSTALLED My HiD KiT iNTO My CAR & iT'S BEEN GiViNG ME PROBLEMS. iT WiLL TURN ON, BUT THE PASSENGER SiDE SOMETiME'S SHUT OFF. that hurt my eyes. but you can look into getting yourself a wiring harness which will give your ballasts more power to get warmed up. heres a link to it.

Do I need to install bi-xenon kit in case to use low beam and high beam or just xenon HID kit is fine ?

If you get a regular kit, it will be just for your low beams.

I have the xentec kit, found on ebay the OEM headlight adapter that most will need if they get the kit from ebay. There is a hole through it that will allow the wiring to go through and the dust cover will fit nicely. I will post pics as soon as I I stall mine.

you asked about ddms - they have dropped dramatically in price since they came on the scene a while ago, but i've had them on 3 different cars - all different kits and they have all had no issues - put 2 kits on 1 car early 08 and they are still working great today...
i just wish there was a cheap way to convert the p5 headlight housing to projector instead of reflector -
hids in reflector usually wind up being a lot more bright light everywhere then actual functionality
