Help!!! with Walbro Fuel Pump

Bigg Tim said:
Yeah man, there's no way you should be lean. No sure about your fuel pressure issue. Nick is still using the stock pump on deans car and he is running 24psi wit 2 xtra injectors. Have you been running this setup for a while?
I just got the walbro put in, because we plan to go to 25 psi, and nitrous.

I edited the last post with more questions. Can we get a map file to look over settings? How about the old map, how high were the values B4 you ddi the pump?

Sure thing, map is attached below. The values on the old map were increased by 15%. The engine was ported everywhere, heads, intake exaust, etc...

Not too relavant, but you can up your fuel upper limit to 4.98v to give you more room to add fuel on the analog map. What is the analog out voltage at when you are in the box with the 18's in them? You will not be adding anymore fuel once you hit the 5v mark.

Everything else looks good. Have you done any changes to the wiring or anything? How are the injectors hooked up? Where is the gray/black wire going to on the injectors, positive or negative?

Grey/Black is on the negative, like I said extra injectors do fire under 5000 rpm. As for my analog voltage, anything more than 4.6 volts and I hit fuel cut, maybe my ECU was calibrated differently.

Sounds good on the wiring. You should be able to go to 5v because the MAF is 0-5v. Damn MSP's!!!

So when you had the values at 200, it made no difference? You should of had way too much fuel at that point. Were you able to increase values above 5k before the pump??? If you could do it all before, then I'm stumped. I don't know too much about fuel pressures and stuff.

Before I had the stock turbo and didn't go over 12 psi boost. We changed the turbo, put in 4 extra injectors and the walbro 255. Now I can get A/F under 5000 RPM to 9.0 to 1 if I want, but above 5000 RPM it always goes lean.

i have this problem too...

and now the pump i think has shat itself... half the time it works half the time it doesnt'
makes alot more noise than usualy too....

it made my lean out at 5,500 so bad i killed a spark plug and smashed piston no 4... dents everywhere... i'm not getting to 30psi on this piston.. another set is on the way...

Well we finally figured out what the problem was. Idiot who put in my fuel pump had the lines reversed. So it was pumping gas up the return line.

:wtf: There is only one way to put the fuel lines on, dont know what he was

thinking. You should have put it on yourself and save u some frustration, its

only a 20-30 install.

what an idiot...yea the FP install take no time, especially for me since theres no back seats, probably will take me 10 mins when i get one :D

queston..how do you load someone elses map in the software? when i hit load map it goes to that stupid menu

You save the map in the MPI_TUNER folder so when you hit the "load map", it will show up in your list. If you don't want to see the extra maps, just delete them from the folder and you will only see what you left. The maps have the .SMT extension and the log files are .RAW Leave everything else.

Focus---glad to hear you got it resolved. We will be waiting to hear good results form the higher boost you'll be running.

I am too. So far at 18 lbs. boost she's pulling hard. Now I just gotta fix my timing because I have too much pulled.

If you have the same amount as the map you posted, I think you shouldn't add anymore timing. -4 degrees isn't that much for the boost level you are running. Add too much in and BOOM!

If you add the two up, it's more like 7 degrees pulled up top.

I forgot you had values in the 1x16 column too. It's better safe then sorry. Nick has my J&S to use in Dean's MSP so we can see how much timing relly needs to be pulled in them things. He is running 24psi, so whatever numbers he comes up with will help you in your tuning.
