Ok just curious as to wether you all think that a intercooler hard pipe kits is worth the investment. I know all the chrome looks pretty and what not and understand that most of the time metal is better the plastic. but for the weaponr kit of p garage it says 8-13hp on a properly tuned vehicle which sounds fantastic. what is everyones take on it?

Also this is assuming you are still using the stock SMIC like I am :(

i think that hardpipes with stock smic wont do much for performance, all you really need to replace is the hotpipe, but an upgraded smic and hardpipes, you will notice the difference right outa the box.

well i wasent really looking to get the kit for performace reasons, mostly to get rid of the bad plastic and the hard pipes look cool... im a noob, where is the hotpipe?

it is in the front of your engine bay...it goes from the turbo to the intercooler. when you push the gas and you look at the hotpipe, you will see it expand. it is a good idea to replace both of them if you can but if you cant, its ok to just do the hotpipe (turbo to intercooler) P.S. welcome to the forums!! :)

I got the turbo hoses piping kit and the upgraded smic protege garage and am very happy with it. Then you really dont have to worry about the stock pipes cracking or the bpv nipples breaking.

DO NOT get the weapon R kit, i just got it, too many problems with it. i regret the purchase, i should have went with the turbohoses pipes or the street unit ones.

Wait please explain what was wrong with it, I think a lot of people have thought about ordering these at one point of time.

thanks for the info...and thanks for the welcome.. I am not new to forums or the car, just new to this forum :) I would like to know whats wrong with the weapon r kit as thats the one I was looking to get. are there legit issues or are these problems specific to you?

So what are reasonable price hard pipe kits? SU, Turbohoses, and ???? Which is better out of the two mentioned? Also has anyone tried the samco hotpipe? I think P Garage or SU sells it?

SU's are the nicest looking as they are seamless and I do believe they are a little cheaper than the Turbohoses. I myself have the Turbohoses set and wouldn't trade them for anything other than the SU ones.

I have the SU pipes and they are indeed sweet and they make a big difference over the plastic.

with the low boost levels our stock t25 pumps out, the stock plastic pipes are sufficient. the only way you are going to notice a difference is if the stock pipes are cracked and leaking.

holy hell... I am still looking for the ones I want cause I am broke atm... they all seem so expensive though :(

i have heard nothing but the obvious problems with weapon-r hardpipes. because the kit is many different pieces put together with couplers the risk of having vac leaks is high. i ordered the turbohoses harpipes but like everyone says the su ones are comparable. while we may run low boost i figure it is only a matter of time before the stock pipes crack. of vac leaks

it's not a big problem if you replace the couplers with quality ones and t-bolt clamps right from the start... having more pieces have one advantage which is a better ability for the piping system to flex from engine movement... a one piece pipe makes it difficult and you definitely want hump couplers with those! the fitment on the weapon-r pipes is bad too, so hopefully the turbohoses ones are way better
