Its not dead. Apoc finally got a nice video cam, and I got time to make it now. Stay tuned....

awesome!!! il be tuning mine this summer so a video would be extremely helpful!!

finally got my cable in for the mpi and i just wanted to ask how do i go about wiring the mpi to the extra injectors? i have the install instruction and it only has one wire to connect to them does it matter which one i connect it to? and what do i do with the othe wire(s) coming from it? i just wan to mae sure i do it right the first time pics would help to if you have them.

Look on the xtra injectors and you will see a + and - on them. Take the + to a 12v source, I ran mine to the battery, and the - goes to the MPI wire in the instructions.....I think it was the gray with a black stripe. The MPI grounds the negative to fire the injector, so it doesn't matter if the 12v is switched or not.

and if u have say 4 injectors u just split that mpi wire 4 times?

That one wire controls all 4 injectors, all 4 negaitves go to that wire. It's batch mode like the Haltech is.

thanks. just want to get it right might have to make a trip to see rich so he can help me finish the hook up and get a good base tune. don't hook the purples up right when you have the extra injectors?

Right, no need for the purple or yellow if you have them. Only the white, those are the O2 clamp. Remeber, only tune the stock injectors in boost and max them out to 4.98v, THEN use the xtra injectors. Don't try to "overtune" the low end.

thats another question i have, the o2 clamp is for the first or second o2 because i have a second o2 eleminator on it and have since put a wide band in its place the first is un-touched

max out like 85% duty cycle "safe" or 95-100% duty cycle "unsafe"?

say i finaly hooked this mpi up and got an saerial cable to usb adapter but the mpi isn't talking to the lap top in fact it seem to not be even sending a signal to the adapter did i do somehing wrong? or is there a cablt the powers it? please help the mpi has a map already loaded but what the map was only beau could know since he's the one that sent it to me. it let the car start but beyond that ?????????????????

if u have a serial to usb u prolly have to load drivers for it first (even in XP), and if u do, also make sure that when its loaded the com port is on 1-4 for teh device (in windows, not teh mpi), cause mpi doesnt read past 4

it showed all four comm ports but wheni hooked up the cable-usb adapter it looked like there was no info coming through he adaptor so i'm going to see if i can find someone with an laptop that has the cable connection and try that. all wires are connected and what ever map is on it its lean as hell so boost is not going to happen anytime soon. the mpi is getting power the black box is getting power the conector is geting something but the ground works, the middle wire did'nt realy register and the out side on had a negative current i think. i think i should of just stayed with the msp ecu and kept it 6.5psi well i'll just call mpinick and ask him about it.

Dont give up so quick. USB to Serial is very touchy. Try the different laptop approach. Most the time I have found that serial to usb is flakey from computer to computer. Some take it well, others dont, my dell being one.

Do you have extra injectors?

i ain't givin up but do (poke) ponder it when wrenche are thrown, i'm going to try another comp and i do have the xtra injectors(first) (second) on and hooked up (though they weren't labeled so the postitive and negative are iffy at best but i'm also not using the purples). do you think its the switch over cable to usb or could it be the mpi? well hopefully i'll find out some time this week or weekend.

here is the deal with the mpi in my findings. Rarely is it a turbo module (almost never). It should never be the mpi as it is tested. (verified date/time stamp in software). 99.999999 (6 sigma for you stats nerds) percent its the install.

Is your car idling correctly? If not, then there is an update on the instal to the turbo module, where you have to solder 2 2.2k resistors in parallel to the mpi blue to ground before you hit the turbo module and other wires in that step. I am not sure if you had one of those or not.

Most likely its the com port situation. Im sure you already have, but verify that the mpi serial cable is snuggly in the connector.

Give yourself a good nights rest, and try that other laptop in the am. Ill run through this thread periodically tommorrow, and i'm Tim will be in and out too

It clamps the 1st O2. Now I would recommend putting your 2nd o2 back in and using two spark plug nonfoulers. Its a mechanical fix vs electrical.

So that pink/blue wire that you wired other wires to is your 1st o2

are you sure the sencond o2 sensor eliminator has a resistor that lets the ecu see heat and a wire square with the signal sender and has work flawlessly and the first o2 was clamped per install instructions. the pink/blue #60 is done

Is your car idling correctly? its ideling good BUT very lean off and on the wide band stays around 17 to -- before a bump of the throttle put it around 14-15

I am not sure if you had one of those or not. I used the big tim direction or post 59 and 94 i think they are for the install, i did make sure they where snug but to no luck. i did notice there where still a few mpi wires not connected like the black w/ blue wires(2), (1) pink wire, the (grey) stpsttr switch wire i would say a few more but didn't get to write that down but all connections are matched up right.

well i as long as i take it easy i will try to find out whats the deal

is the light on the USB adaptor flashing? If not then it is not installed right.

Most USB adaptors need to be on com port 4.
