Step 4: Install the MPI Tuner wires blue #6, green/yellow #11, black/white #10 and the green Turbo Module wire to the PCM light green w/black #88 wire that is coming in from the engine side.

In your MAF hookup pic there are only 3 wire from the MPI connect to the #88 wire that coming in from the engine side. There is no green turbo module wire. What do we do with that wire?

Let it hang, it's not needed if you hook it up that way. Normally the green wire has the resistor on it in the TM so there is no need to do it the way the picture is. So it is working for you the way the picture is? If so then don't worry about the green TM wire.(thumb)

I purchased an MPI Tuner w/ turbo module, that I plan on installing within the next two weeks. I do not plan on installing my tubo kit for another couple of months. Should install/wire the TM in now? Is there anyway that i can set it to not switch on, since there is no boost yet? I just want to install it and get used to the software before everything else goes in. Any other suggestions you may have for me?

Why not install the MPI Tuner after you install you turbo kit? Because if you install you MPI right now you will need to tune it, then after you install your turob kits you will need to tune it again.

The wiring is different for N/A but you can install it the way the turbo instructions say and just tune it for N/A and leave the switch off until you get the turbo on. Basically, install the unit, adjust the settings until you get 2-2.08v analog output voltage and make the rest of the map whatever value that is. That should be stock, and you could tune it a lil from there.

To me it seems like a waste of time because you will get used to tuning it without turbo, then when it comes to tuning for the turbo, you will have to relearn because you will need to tune more then what you have been tuning wothout the turbo. So it's up to you, but you will have to make your own map, no base maps for you because you will not have the turbo on and the N/S setup is tuned differently.

You could wire it in N/A, tune it N/A and then rewire it for turbo, but there again, what you learn tuning wise get's thrown out when you go to the turbo setup because tuning is different. In N/A you use negative numbers for more fuel and with turbo it's opposite. Also in N/A you don't use the switch where in turbo you NEED to use it.

Ok.
P.S. can you give me a run down of the settings I should have under Gobel Setting?

If it's running off someone's map, then you have the right settings. If it's running at all then you have the right settings. You will mess with the fuel calibration depending on how YOUR car needs it. Set it first, then don't mess with it again. Set it so you get 2-2.08v at idle when the engine is warm and the fans are off.

Right now the reading is 2.0 sometimes for a 1/10 second it will go to 1.96
The current fuel calibration is set at +1
If I change it to +2, the reading will be 2.0-2.04.

So which one is better?

P.S. I kind of tuned it a little: man the car feels totally different. I am at 7.5psi( do this one, then I will move up to 10psi), but my car feels really strong. It feels like 10psi(without the MPI). (thumb)

I will Dyno tune my car next week ( Mon or Tur).
I will do 7.5 psi and 10 psi. If I have time, maybe I will do a 12psi run.

Last time I dyno was at Mazdafest 2005, I was at 9.5-10psi, I got 192whp and 184tq.

Since then, I have relocated my MAF and installed the MPI Tuner, I hop to get 200-205whp at 10psi.

I am playing around with the Fuel, I will leave the ingition to the guys at the shop. So far I am happy with it.

i will dyno mine soon enough.....i have the mpi with turbo module running 20 psi daily and not hitting fuel cut. as soon as i dyno it and make sure my map is running the right a/f mixtures i will post my map.

mods if you dont know are a t3/t04e turbo/ mpi log manifold/ custom pipes with 2 extra injectors/ spearco intercooler........
btw i think i am running the highest psi on a stock motor/stock tranny so do i get any props for that? .............(!! after nick and big timm helped me get my car running again that is !!) like i said b4 the dyno and a track run are coming in april........ so we will see what a stock motor at 27 psi can do?

and yes i have proof a stock motor with enough fuel can handle 27 psi .........

i am having a fully built motor built now and i am about to buy a tubular manifold for that motor. so if it blows, oh well!!

hey bro what kind of mods do you have

edit: whoops, scrolled up and saw the sig
you have a lot of nice mods. i think all you need is extra injectors and you'll be set as far as mucho power before rebuilding the engine. well, some port and polishing wouldn't hurt either, but yea, nice stuff

i already had a vid of me racing but i smoked 1st,2nd and 3rd............i had way too many red bulls since it was like 1 am...... 7 red bulls made me jittery and i screwed up...... and i was running 27 psi, when i hooked up i just took off with no fuel cut or any other problems. i was working on my launch before i went on vacation and i will run at the track when i get back to wa in 2 weeks.

lol i never posted it since i screwed up so bad.............try drinking 7 red bulls and racing............i will never do it again......... lol. i will have a in car video when i race when i get home. it is me vs a 72 chevy step side drag truck running 12's......... so a spectator view camera and 2 incar camera's will be their
