i have the hatchback as i said. and it says its for the hatchback in the add, however if you scroll down it says sedan.. so lemme know ! thankss

Never an eBay exhaust. You'll save tons of money, but the so called performance and sound will just be terrible.

Agreed! You never know what you're getting unless a name brand that others have tried. Most of those are fart can systems made to fit anything with no regard to how the engine its attached to was designed.
You'd be better off taking the car to a local exhaust/muffler shop and having one custom made for the car. That way you could choose your components. e.g. Vibrant free-flow cat, Magnaflow muffler and res, etc....
Oh, and do get a resonator installed or the droning at speed will drive you crazy, or at least your passengers.

the mazdaspeed exhaust is super loud on the regular 3 go with a name brand you'll spend more but be happier i the end

You forgot to mention what sound you're going for. Are you looking to piss off the neighbors?

idk I really want a speed 3 but got really no hits on the thread. if you guys say no to those two then it must be bad haha

Do you have speed3 exhaust on your car? I am just not sure why it would be louder.

Someone, in my area, use to have a Speed3 and traded it in for a EVO. He still has the exhaust and wants to sell it. I just do not know if it's safe for me to put a Speed3 muffler on my non turbo 3s GT Hatchback.

Why wouldn't it be safe? It's been done over and over again. No problems can come of it, but a little more noise.

Well, I just do not want it to sound like a Honda Ricer. LOL I like how my car sounds with the Injin CAI. Sounds nice and deep.

Makes sense.
Sure. I have actually heard two identical cars run with their exhaust disconnected, one turboed and one NA. The turboed car was much quieter, almost as if it were running a more radical AM exhaust. The NA car just sounded nasty... and not in a good way either.

The only way it will sound like that is if you buy an eBay exhaust, aka fart can.
By nature these engines have a low tone/throaty sound, so in either case it would not sound like a Honda w/a fart can on it. But with the wrong muffler/exhaust installed on it they can get quite raspy sounding "like" a Honda w/a fart can.

So, you think I should get a Borla...?

I hear Borlas (on the Mazda3) have a nice deep and neighbor friendly (not too loud) sound..., sporty is the word I've heard used, and similar to my own Vibrant, but I haven't personally heard one to form my own opinion.

Now, I'm calling places, who sell Borla, to get rates on a cat-back exhaust. Odd thing is, Borla tells you to contact other companies who sell the product cheaper.
