Possible Fix
Well i put my MSP in the shop and with a little research from them, they came to the conclusion that due to Mazda just throwing the car together to showcase the last line of Proteges they didn't incorporate variable valve timing into the engine. Thus, after breaking in the engine, the valves would not stay running against the camshaft afterwards giving us that ticking typewriter sound. The shop owner talked to Mazda, in which they said they released a bulletin to Dealerships about this common problem. They currently do not have a fix for this, but if you have one let them know. The shop i took it to said the only real cure for it would be to machine the lifters a couple millimeters. So i will be out of a car for a little while while they get my car into a machine shop to get it done.
