endlink clunking

looks good to me. :) Once the car is on the ground, the ends of the bar will raise up to about the heighth of the wheel hub, right?

Nate,

I think it will be around that, like 6-7 inchi from the ground. So far so good, the ends of the bar doesn't hit anything. Can't wait to get the new end rods and solve the clunking noise :p

Looks ok to me too... have you checked to see if it has been hitting anywhere (marks, etc.)?

I will double check it again when I install the new end rods. Until now, looks like it doesn't hit anything (2thumbs)

Wai a minute. It looks as if the endlinks are on the wrong side of the(I'm not sure what that part is called) suspension. Here's a pic of mine. See how my endlinks are on the opposite side? When the car is lowered onto the ground, the endlink looks like it'll contact the suspension and possibly...break something.

Natey, you have the fully adjustable AWR like I do. h4tor1 has a 2-way adjustable and is using the stiffer setting. If you were to adjust yours back to where his is, you would need to be on the other side of the suspension as well.

I see, but I can't put the endlinks like yours. The endlinks will hit the black bar. Is the black bar the trailing link, not sure. Oh well, I think the shape of 21 mm and the 19 mm 2 way adjustment sway bar are totally different. The only way I can put the endlink is like on my pic. I try to re-position the sway bar but it will not clear. So that is the only way I can install the sway bar and endlinks without hitting anything. Unless, there is some "magic" way

Vivid, there you are, you save my day. I was worried that I installed it wrong. But your explanation clears up everything (yippy)

Finally, no more clunking. Save by the "Magic Rubber" from Tony at AWR :)

Took me a while to figure about the reverse thread of the endlinks. After that, everything is simple. It is so amazing how the rubber can fix the clunking noise. The old style endlinks also have the same thing, except it is made from metal. The new style is made from rubber. I think there is only the difference.

Just want to share with you guys. If someone has the same problem with the AWR adjustable endlinks, contact Tony at AWR to get the "magic rubber". Problem solves !!!

Actually I think it plastic, nylon...but it's nice. That's what I've got. I think there is a plastic insert in the hiem joint also that makes them better and last longer.

Ups, my bad, i think it was rubber

I don't see any plasctic insert in the ball joint but I might be wrong. Well, not a big deal, it solves the clunking noise. Feel so much better without hearing the clunk clunk clunk :p

Ok, related question. I just installed new lowering springs, and now my end-links are knocking on my trailing links(?). Will the AWR endlinks work with the stock sway bar, and fix my problem? If not if I get the 19mm sway bar and new links will that fix my knocking?

Which one is knocking the trailing links? If the stock front endlinks is the problem, then just get the stock rear endlinks. The stock rear endlinks is shorter compare to the stock front one.

If the stock rear endlinks is the problem, then you need to call Tony at AWR, ask him what is the minimum length you can go with the adjustable enlinks. Then compare it with the stock rear endlinks. I am not sure if the adjustable endlinks will work with the swaybar.

But, getting the new AWR swaybar and new adjustable endlinks will solve the knocking problem. You just need to spend more money for that.

Hopefully it helps.

Well that just gives me an excuse to get a new sway bar. After taking a closer look it's actually the ends of the sway bar (where the endlinks connect) that is hitting the rear trailing arm. I'm asuming that a new bar will help this still?

I have similar problem... with my new struts and springs...I hear knocking noises from my rear.
I just hope new sway bar and new endlinks will solves the problem..

Yup, new swaybar with adjustable endlinks will solve it. With the adjustable endlinks, you can adjust the height of the endlinks so it will clear the trailing arm. I had 19mm AWR swaybar and I like it a lot. Less understeer in the autox and track :)

Is that the only thing that is different? You didnt get new rod ends? Did you have to pay for them? Cause I email Tony and he is talking about 4 new rod ends. If all I need is the rubber spacer, then I wont waste my money.

Natey: You keep saying they are a free upgrade, but they aren't. You have to purchase the new parts.
