Are the Tein h-tech springs of good quality?
The higher the offset, the more the wheel is tucked under. Our stock offset is like 52mm. So a 45 offset pushes the wheel out 7mm. Basically when you change the geometry of your car either with a different offset wheel, or lowering or both there will be potential for it to rub.
My car is not that low. The Tein H-techs drop it about 1.1 in the front and .9 in the back. It is the mildest drop I could find.
I don't really follow what you mean about 40 or 45R. It is all about proper fitment for your car. If you have an 18 inch wheel you need a 40 series tire. With 17s a 50 or 45 should fit fine as long as you are not going higher than a 225/45.
And yes, tein builds good quality stuff.
