Dropping your ride.

hmmm....why? how low is your car???? damn. The only problem I can see with that is IF the tires were 40R; not 45R.

Are the Tein h-tech springs of good quality?

The higher the offset, the more the wheel is tucked under. Our stock offset is like 52mm. So a 45 offset pushes the wheel out 7mm. Basically when you change the geometry of your car either with a different offset wheel, or lowering or both there will be potential for it to rub.

My car is not that low. The Tein H-techs drop it about 1.1 in the front and .9 in the back. It is the mildest drop I could find.

I don't really follow what you mean about 40 or 45R. It is all about proper fitment for your car. If you have an 18 inch wheel you need a 40 series tire. With 17s a 50 or 45 should fit fine as long as you are not going higher than a 225/45.

And yes, tein builds good quality stuff.

I see. What I meant is that a 40R-17 would be to thin IMO and would probably scrape the ground when taking tight turns etc.

Not really an issue, they make tires in certain series with a 25 series profile and there aren't issues with them other than ride quality.

question. I'm not sure whether I will change my 05 m'3 for an 07. I want to drop it but dont want to waste the money. Is there a way where I can take the springs off and put it on the new one? Or is it worthless?

I ordered some angel eyes. You think those will be switchable to the 07?

As long as you keep your stock springs, switching them over to a different vehicle is no problem.
That's what I plan to do if, by some miracle, I get a MS3. All of my mods are reversible.

As long as they don't do something weird with the suspension on the '07 models, anyway.

Yeah, thats what i was planning to do, thats why I try not to put anything that cannot be transferible.

I think the new rims of the 07 are 18s....they look 18s. hopefully transfering my tires/rims wont be a problem either.

Yeah, pretty sure the MS3 wheels are 18" but I don't know about the rest of the models.

i had sportlines on my car for 1 day the camber was driving me nuts and i went back to stock i need something a lil less agressive. so would you still need the camber kit if u have a pro kit or skunk 2 springs?

Yep. The car would still have negs because the springs are still small.

Hey Goldwing, I found your installation thread. I dont have a floor jack, but I do have a set of jack stands. Can I do the installation with those?

I assume you mean to use the vehicle jack for the lifting work? I don't think I would. Get a $20 generic floor jack from any auto parts store.

Bleh. What if I use block? Or a midget?

Did your camber links arrived yet?

um does the camber kit fix the negative camber entirely or how close does it get to being the what the camber is supposed to be.

Nope. I checked Drivewire's web site and my order shows "Cancelled". I called them and they said the part has been discontinued.

This is AFTER I called them to make sure they had them IN STOCK before I ordered.

Assholes... (pissed)

Anyway, you can use whatever you want to change your springs. When you break a leg or lose some fingers, don't come crying to me.

****. I just called, they said the same.

I guess I'll just go with the expensive mazdaspeed s***.

Tire Rack has the Eibach in stock (or so they claim) but I'm going to wait a couple weeks to see if mazda3zoom can get some.

I'm not going to go with the Mazdaspeed ones because they're not adjustable.

Yes, but I don't want 'advertise' here and step on anybody's toes (sponsership fees).
