DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) is my new workout plan...

DDR worked VERY well as a workout program for one of my best friends. He went from chubby dork to thin pimp in a matter of months. The drastic change in his weight made his confidence go through the roof, and now he pulls 10 times the ass that I do. But lemme tell you, it sure as hell was funny watching his chunky-ass dancing on that pad for the first couple of months!!! He stuck with it though, and it def paid off for him. Good luck with your DDR super fun workout program!!!

Well, it's time to get my ass back on the pad. I now weigh about 240. When I was DDR-ing regularly, I was at 215 LBS. Time to fit back into a 36 size pants.

I have to agree, this is one hell of a workout. My little sister got it for Christmas, along with 2 foam pads, and I got a bit hooked. In a week i dropped 5 lbs like it was nothing on Standard mode on DDR Extreme 2. I had to velcro the foam pads to the floor so they didnt slide, but its working out really well. Now that I'm back to school, I use the workout facilities there, but this is actually a decent alternative.

Life has made it a little more difficult to get back into the swing of things. Job, being a father, being a husband....

I will get back in shape!!

Started this back up again. Already worked out twice this week. I will do this a minimum of 3 times a week. The PS2 version has a workout mode that lets you count KCalories and such. You enter in your weight, and it calculates how many caleries you burn per song. I don't stop until I've done minimum 300 kCals burned.

Man I love this game, it's great cardio, and it helped me get some strength and range of motion back in my right knee since I recently had surgery to my knee. It was a fun therapy for me.

Ok, so I finally got around to making the upgrades to my dancepad:

The stock setup, with foil tape on the bottom of the plexiglass square, and a contact pad to the right.

Close-up of the foil tape, that wears away over time.

The contact button array pad.

The sheet metal square I cut. Duct tape around the edges to keep it from cutting anything (including me), and a cutout for the wires.

The new sheet metal contact point in place for a more responsive dance experience! Notice how the cutout prevents an untimely short!!

The galvanized steel sheet metal was rolled up, so it had a natural curvature to it. This makes it "springy" when placed with the curve rising up, which gives a more responsive dance pad.
