cutting shifter

has anyone cut down their stock shifter for a "shortshift effect". I know shortshifters aren't just shorter but for free would this help?

If you just cut the shifter, instead of getting a short shifter kit, you would lose levearage and actually make it harder to shift. Plus, you would have to find a way to re-thread, or weld on the threads that you cut off for the knob.

I'm not sure which model 6 you have, but a short shifter for the ms6 is around 150, not 70.

Best reason not to just "cut" your shifter instead of a kit... (ricer)

wow just wow...hasnt anyone benefitted from the phrase "you have to pay to play" ? Good mods cost money....dont rice-ify it...people will just call you cheap...

30k car, and won't pay for a 100 dollar short shifter, he'd rather cut it and make shiftting worse.

BTW, i've seen a bunch of shifters taht were cut and rewelded break, it sucks, buy a SS.

i lied i guess i dont know the real price of SS for a mazda.

the price came from when i was looking for a short shifter for my friends teg for his birthday.
