Cruise Control not Working...

Did it get turned off. There is a power button behind the three main buttons it needs to be pressed in for the cruise to work. If that is on the try checking fuses.

If the main switch is on also check your brake lights, one of those being out can keep the cruise from working.

Yeah I turned the Main button on, and when I press "set coast" nothing happens. My brake lights are all on.

Check the fuse.

If the brakes are 'on' without the brake pedal pressed then it would cancel the cruise control (and irritate people behind you!)

This happened in my Prelude, and while all the electronics worked, it didn't hold speed. One of the vacuum hoses was disconnected. I just hooked it back up, problem solved.

OK, the cc modules have been known to flake out. Mine works but sometimes needs to kick in the ass to wake it up after not using it for long time. Sometimes takes 3 or 4 tries. Here's what I do..............get going, turn on pwr button, try to set it. If it doesn't take over then turn pwr button off then back on, try to set it then hit accelerate button and see if it grabs hold. Mine will go ahead and do it's thing after few tries at frwy speed. After that it will work as it should.............until the car sits around or you don't use it for awhile again. Same procedure and viola! Give it a shot as long as fuses, vacuum lines all connected and brake lights are all working. I try to leave pwr button off when not using cc, dunno if it matters or not but it's what I do. Good luck.........

I'll have to check for a disconnected vaccuum hose then!

And yeah I've tried repeatedly messing with it as I'm driving, and absolutely nothing happens. But I'll try it again and see. But I definitely need to check out the vaccum hoses.

Another issue I've noticed- my rear passenger lock doesn't lock or unlock with the power button, and anytime I lock my doors or unlock them, that door makes the loudest grinding noise. Could the motor for that power lock have died? Are those costly to fix? Or could it be something else?

cc - have you fiddled with accelerate button while doing it because that seems to be what kicks mine in frequently. pwr button on, get to speed, hit set then immediately be jiggling the accerlerate button and hopefully feel it pick up and start going faster...all this while holding the gas pedal kinda steady. Next step - score module from a part out in the FS section if no relay, fuse or vacuum line issues.

door lock - The actuator is broken, it has a plastic gear in it. Getcha one from onlinemazdaparts dot com, ask for Jason. Just get the actuator itself for 40-50.00 not the 95.00 ones with all the rods and crap with it.

Okay sounds good. I'll check fuses and vacuum lines, and I'll try tinkering with the accelerator on my way home. Thanks for the info on the door lock! So because the actuator is broken, that's why it's making that awful grinding noise too? And how do you know I won't need all the rods and crap? (sorry for all the questions, p5 is very new to me.)

Yeah, gear breaks in half and grinds on itself. Mine did same thing and I bought the 95.00 piece and only needed the actuator part that has the gear in it. No problem on the questions, it's cost effective way to learn..............

Oops, my bad. I was posting the link up from my phone. Yeah that's the part I was looking at. Awesome, I'll definitely be ordering that soon then. Is it difficult to get put in? Thanks for all your help!

Not hard install, just mind the goop snake that attaches the plastic liner to the door shell and not tear plastic or get the black stuff on you. The part itself will be pretty simple once you get in the door. Just detach the actuator from the rod assembly piece and unplug the electric then reverse install. Check the function before putting plastic and door panel back in place then just button it back up all nicelike.
