I don't know if this has already been posted but I recently just cleaned a lot of the "opaqueness" off of my headlights by just using some NuFinish wax. I bought the Rain-x version of the 3M product to clear up your headlights but just tried the NuFinish wax and it seemed to work pretty well. I returned the Rain-x product without using it. I don't have compare-and-contrast pictures but anybody have any feedback on this?

PlastX didnt do anything for me. I heard great things about the 3M kit though.

I used toothpaste to clear the lens and Plastx (or whatever its called) to polish up the lens. It turned out well.

3M worked well for me too. I would also add a coat of wax to the ligths afterwards to slow the oxidation process again. Because it will come back again at some point.

I dont know about that....... I know I wouldn't do it.

The wax should be sufficient.

it is the same clear coat they put on when you tint your taillight.... minus the tint. this will prevent it from yellowing till the clear coat wears off

Hmmm...never heard of spraying clear coat on headlights before. Interesting.

I do this all the time at work.. DA the crap out of the lights with 400 grit and clear coat them. Works very well. And with the auto clear coat the yellow wont come back..

I actually used the Turtle wax version of headlight cleaner. It came with a couple of different sanding pads (hand sanding...ugh.), a spray bottle of some type of "lubricant", a tack cloth, and a sealed cloth that had some "treatment" on it. worked pretty well.
