Bastian's P5 on a college budget

Does your stereo not have a dim or brightness adjustment?

It dims a bit when the headlights come on, but there is no way of turning it down any more than that. Almost every review of it will tell you that, but it does everything else flawlessly for a reasonable price. So, pressing the clock button is no big deal (2thumbs)

I finally got around to plastidipping the radio surround, and I redid the shifter surround cause I did a crappy job the first time around

I left the faux carbon fiber trim around the radio the way it was, and I'm glad I did

I like that a lot actually. You doing this with everything still in the car or taking the pieces out?

Some guy on the forums did all his interior pieces and said they didn't hold up well to the oils in his skin. The pics showed that they were very shiny and started to pit. Maybe he was a greasy guy because my shifter surround has been like this for months with no change

Then again, sharpie doesn't stick to me so maybe I'm different

Thanks! and I'm taking the pieces out to do them. That way you can get in every little crevice.

The flip-up cup holders were on 2002 proteges, in 2003 they switched to open. Problem is, with the lid open, it blocks the little pocket behind the cup holders...
IMO, looks cleaner but less practical. Plus they would block my subwoofer volume knob

The funny thing, is that I normally leave mine open for connivence anyway lol.. But now you leave me with a choice. Should I do the same? I don't really like the metallic, but it brings contrast to the interior... mines also severely scratched up.

Lol'd at the Crown Royal shift boot!

so today the car decided to throw a p0303, cylinder #3 misfire... and I might have kill someone :'(

any thoughts on what could cause this?

oh whoops lol I meant to type "I might have TO kill someone"... because the stupid car is pissing me off haha

soooooo yeah, anybody? I'm car-less....

If the coilpacks haven't been replaced, that would be my first guess/starting place. Coilpacks, wires, spark plugs if you haven't done them.

Turned out to just be a loose wire, everything's good now (2thumbs) thanks for the tips though guys!

Thanks :) Yeah, in the US all P5 headlights were chrome. In Canada they're black. This summer I may paint mine black...
