for those of you out there that have your pro lowered and on 18's, where did you get your alignment done and does mazda have specs for this? any replies are appreciated, peace.
thanks apexistud. my main question is whether or not mazda has alignment specs for proteges with 18" wheels because i think their are specs for different sized wheels, correct? Can some of you mazda gurus please help me out, peace.
guys....the size of your wheels makes NO DIFFERENCE. none at all.
you hopefully want the alignment tech to be able to align your car to stock/factory specs, regardless of the wheel/tire combo. That is unless you are setting your car up for autocross or some special specific set up.
HOPEFULLY you chose a wheel/tire combination that has virturally or very close to the stock diameter so that you don't have rubbing on the spring perches.....so you see....the car doesn't care what the diameter of your wheels are. just in which direction they are pointed when you are driving so that it handles properly.
I personally don't know what the SPEC's are....but I have my car riding on 17 X 7.5 inch wheels...sporting 215/40 tires...and also with a set of Eibach Pro Kit springs.....I took the car to my Mazda dealer after riding on the springs for a week and allowing a little time for them to settle.....the Techs had no problem setting up the alignment to the factory/stock specs.
thanks again o great sir nuke, your all-knowing insight is greatly appreciated. the only reason i decided to post was because i asked the service guy at my dealership about an alignment and his reply was that my wheels were probably too big, go figure. they are actually really cool there but i guess not to knowledgable, thanks again sir nuke, peace.
