Airflow Logistics AFC dyno results

Unless you have a local street tire stock class I would tell you to run STX or just not tell anyone about the AFC (unless you're winning). The index between STX and DS is very close and unless you're on r-compounds you probably won't have a chance.

I dunno noclue. It'd be a close call, but I doubt anyone would care if you're just autoxing regionally. STX could be a good option for you though if you don't have r-compounds. I'm running STX and it's fun being able to mod the car and see the changes on course.

EDIT: But yeah, if you have anymore questions post in the racing/motorsports forums so we don't jack this thread hehe. Sorry DSM, cause I'm the one that instigated the jacking of said thread.

haha no prob brian....ok more on the wiring...ok the MAF in and outs...obviously this takes the actual maf signal in and changes it to whatever you set it at and sends a "new" signal to the ecu...of course now as we know this is absolutely useless if the 1st o2 sensor catches wind of this...so the o2 in and out adjust the o2 signal by the same margin as the maf adjusments...so the ecu never knows any better and is never able to learn its way around it.... now on maps, which to me is the best part...the R4 software allows you to make and save maps as you please, now yes only one map can be loaded at a time, but you can literally store thousands on your comp...thus you can trade these things like baseball cars via email, the forums, etc...its basically just like a word document or jpeg...eventually what I'd like to see is everyone talking back and forth and sharing different maps...now for those of you worried about bogus maps and such, we will also offer "official" maps...that is maps we get from customers that we personally have put to the test and checked for safety and performance....noclue to answer your question, to turn it off you'd simply just reset the map back to stock adjustments...we were actually able to hide it well enough that Evil still cant find it after 4 days of hunting in the engine bay....the great thing about black boxes is they blend in perfectly...

Now we just have to wait for more to be available. I'm sure another GB will fill up as quickly. :-) hint hint

That might be coming here in March or so...There doesnt look to be a big gain from adding timing, but we're currently playing around with the idea and are goin to need atleast 3 months to do some research and testing....and yes we are considering the idea of another GB...not sure if its going to happen or not though we'll have to see when we get more back in stock...

Alright someone may have asked this already but my ADD was starting to kick in while i was reading. In order to use this I'm going to need both an EBC and the AFC-C to run 10psi, right?

a ebc or a mbc to set it at 10 psi.

Definitely interested in this with timing control added. (for NA app) If you did a timing controller would that be in addition to this unit, or as part of this unit? IE, could I buy this now, and then add timing control later?

We will more than likely have an FTC out...but not untill March at the earliest...the timing would probably be of more use and benefit to you N/A guys than the msp community and wont be nearly as easy to tune...my personal suggestion is that 80% of the guys on here will be happy with the AFC unit, only a few of you "super tuners" will need the FTC unit....not to mention the price tag will be signifiicantly higher.....IMHO the AFC will be by far the best bang for the buck....hell at the moment its $100 cheaper than CS exhaust and gives twice the gains....

read both threads on this, and didn't see this question addressed. possible noob question: does it matter if you're running 91 vs 93 octaine? how will this affect the preset maps, will they have to be adjusted?

Maps were set using Evils msp which i believe was running 91...if you are running 93 it will just run very slightly richer, which we can adjust for very easily...

People definitely want to look into some timing boost retard control in the future. 12+ psi at the proper a/f will still knock if the timing isnt retarded especially the areas like cali where they have 91 piss gas.

gotta love that cali piss gas

so if i'm not mistaken, the AFC will improve gas mileage and decrease pollution (make the car run cleaner from an emissions standpoint) due to better air/fuel ratio, right?

ive been meaning to ask, how differant is the map for 8psi vs. 10psi. I guess im asking, to what degree is the a/f changed in the twp maps? I figure I'd get the 10psi map and then run 8psi boost most the time and occasionally run 10psi.

All the maps are included and you can make your own. Just run the 8psi map for 8 and when you turn it up load up the 10psi map.
