i have a question about a timing controller. i know it was stated a FTC may be in the works, a unit that controls both air/fuel & timing, but will anything be developed to control timing in conjuction w/ the psc1 unit that many people bought in the group buys? Or maybe perhaps a core exchange for people who may want to upgrade to the FTC in the future?

^^^^ bump^^^^^ before i buy on i would like to knnow this.^^^^^^^

well, i bought it second hand from my buddy in town for 80 dollars lol. it is 300 normally, so i got a steal, it is just that split second wont send me the software since i didnt purchase it "from" them directly.

Essentially, if i could just have someone email me the software or host it, or even burn me a disk and send it to me (ill cover shipping for priority mail), i can start trying to tune this aic controller for the msp.

My email address is laub@umich.edu if anyone could help me out by sending me the software.

Thanks again peepsalot, or anyone willing to email it to me.

hmm i thought the one DSM is selling could not be bought thru split second
he was getting a "special" one buitl from them for the MSP?

no i dont think so. The r4 software is pretty much the only thing split second uses accross all their tuning devices. The calibration of the actual split second PSC unit, the one dsm is selling was made for the protege i believe.

azian6er said he got an AIC, which is an additional fuel controller, unless he had a typo. So yeah, it's a different thing than what dsm is selling, but it does use the same software.

azian, send me an email and I'll take care of the software. I'm assuming you have the msp version of the psc correct? It is a special version of the psc, psc-020e to be exact so its a little different than the stock psc box. The ftc is up and running...currently on 10lbsmocc's car for steet final testing...for those that have AFCs and want to upgrade to the FTC we will offer an exchange program as a thank you for using our products(not an even exchage, just a heavily discounted price, basically cost). As far as where to buy them. If you call Split Second they will refer you to us for purchasing. So I guess in a way we are the only ones to get them from...Ok now to answer your next question on which to purchase. We only recommend the FTC for those that are swapping turbos and plan on having forged internals. Those that are sticking with the stock turbo and stock internals will be fine with the AFC. We've doen the testing side by side and there really isnt that much gain to be had using the FTC on a stock engine/turbo car...so STock turbo+stock internals=AFC......big turbo + built motor = FTC

Nice - when is the next round of the AFC units going out? I think I need to get my name on that list sir!

Is there a way you could give us an approximation of the the "extra" to get the afc/ftc instead of the afc only?

Try PM'ing, emailing or calling him. Posting in a thread is probably the least effective way of getting an answer from DSMconvert
