1996 Astina engine miss

Hi guys,

New here, sorry if posting in wrong place.

We have a 1996 Mazda Astina. Owned it since new.

It has 112000km up, and recently has developed an engine miss when warm. We recently had it serviced and they changed the timing belt, but that didn't fix the prob. Its a 1.8/auto.

Once the engine warms up, it starts misfiring at low revs or at idle. It doesn't stall, but can cause the whole car to shake really badly if in gear.

It doesn't happen if you give the car a bit of throttle, or when the engine is under load. Only happens at idle or low speed.

Would I be right in thinking it may be ignition coil?

Any advice/tips welcomed.

Cheers,

Rob K.

P.S. Not sure if its the same in USA, Astina is a 323....
