Mazdaspeed Protege!
hey,
I am going to the exhaust shop to weld in the bung for my wideband. How far from the turbo should i get it?
I do not want to be going through sensor's like crazy as i have heard people do, but I also want an accurate reading. I have a Vibrant exhaust if that matters.

Just got under the car, everything is figured out, going to install gauge and new o2 sensor on friday. Dyno coming soon i will hopefully take a vid but definetly a dyno sheet.
Mods: Vibrant, FMIC, 626 mani, Reworked gt25 with gt28 internals, cai, 9psi.
Hoping for 200whp!!

No not yet. I want to but the motor is getting swapped in about 6 months, Probably goign to go standalone and tuning is not cheap!!

don't think he's gonna blow anything with the wideband (if he's smart enough he will not push it if he see 14 appear), but def. not gonna have optimum power. The msp so damn rich, I don't see how he would blow the engine...

Yes i will have the wideband all set up. I will also tell the tuner to look to make sure everythign is going good.
I just want to see where im at cause the car def does not seem as fast as it should.

installing the wideband right now? just a quick question.
Black wire to Ground
Red wire to power swich
Blue wire to Signal Input(+) Pin 60 right??
Blue/Black wire to Signal Input(-) ????

Not sure where the last one goes......

Umm.. if you have a wideband, then you shouldn't be splicing into any ECU wires. If it's a true WIDEband then you should have a separate o2 sensor for it. The only time you'd splice into pin 60 of the ECU is if installing a NARROWband (just flashy lights, no actual AFR readings).

As for the gauge itself, use just the black and red. Black is ground, red is power.. the other two are for data logging. If you had the SS AFC v.2 for example, you could keep a log of your AFR readings with it.

lol, I was way to damn long to reply to posts.... then again, I had a phone call, started typing like 10min ago

it's an AEM wideband right, (didn't see anything about that above) but if it is, I just so happen to have the instalation papers infront of me lol, um,

ya black ground
red power
white is the output (yours must be different) (but my white went to the dattalogging)
and blue for mine was serial output, which was to like a computer...

hmm, just thought that you are probably installing a narrow band connected to the stock O2 sensor?
tell us which type/brand you are putting in, would help

It is all installed now, it was a wideband, I got confused with the How-to.

Now I am just wondering what is the best way to mount the steering wheel gauge pod?

Take off old bezel, and secure the new one using 3M mounting tape. It won't fit over the stock plastic..

2nd that, that is what I did, just make sure you clean the area really good with rubbing alcohol and use a good amount of tape, I noticed that it still wasn't on there really solid, but still pretty good, can only notice it if your anal about it and the details
