will you post a close up pic of some of the sharper/awkward curves on the front bumper. like the upper and lower grille areas. also a close up of where body panels meet each other. like where bumper hits fender etc. i just want to see how well it forms. i need paint and this looks like a sweet, cheap alternative of that.

alright, well the build isnt on hold any more, just had some s*** I needed to get taken care of before I went any further.

So got paid friday. Here is what Ill be buying.
*Oil pan Gasket- RTV sucks balls, and it never seals right for me.
*Lug Nuts- The Evo8 wheels use mag style lug nuts, so I have to order a set in black off of Ebay, since I hate chrome.

and thats it. Im still going to continue wrapping the car, and shaving the hatch. So far I have, The bumper, right fender, left fender, and both drivers side doors wrapped. Next will be both passenger side doors, then the side skirts, then the hatch and rear bumper, and last the a pillar to the rear quarter will be wrapped in one piece.

and since words are boring. heres a pic

I purposely put stuff in front of the car lol just a "teaser"

is it hard to wrap the car ??

Nope, not at all, just time consuming.

And an update, bought the oil pan gasket today, also bought an oil cooler, Hella Horns, some vinyl for customers, and will be purchasing a Haltech Sprint 500 pretty soon.
My SSAFC will be up for sale once I order it if anybody is interested. V2, PM me for price, and of course before money exchanges hands a thread with proper pics will be made.

Also going to be working on getting the corvette wheels painted so I can sell them and make some money back. There just sitting in my house and Im never going to run them..

Well, tried to install the fuel pump today. What a ******* failure. First the pump didnt fit the plastic clip that holds the fuel pump to the assembly. So i cut the clip per the how-to instructions on here. Ok, small speed bump, and now I go to put the pump back in the tank, and it hits the bottom before sitting flush, I dont get it. This is sold for the protege, why the hell do I have to do so much to get this thing to fit.

Ok so turns out, the included "filter" is at such an angle that it hits the bottom, so I have to reuse the old one, which I really didnt want to do, but the tank didnt have too much gunk in it, so it couldnt hurt. Its dark out now, so tomorrow Ill be finishing the install by swapping the filters over and it should be good

Order a new one from rockauto, it was only like $9. Will you take some pics of your install and modification?

If you follow the thread in the How-to section, thats exactly what I did, I have pics but ill have to upload them tomorrow or tonight.
The pump went right in after swapping the filters out, took a while to bleed all the air out of the system, but its running pretty good now.

ok well the car starts fine, and idles fine, but when I rev it, if I rev it up slow, its fine, but if I try to blip the throttle, it'll just cut out, and bog down.
Sounds like its doing a 2 step or something. Any input on this? Only started after I put the pump in

Do you have a way of measuring fuel pressure from the pump?

s***, nvm I figured it out.
I ripped the O ring whenever I shoved the fuel pump up into the assembly. Now I have to go try to order one through mazda,
hopefully they can help me out.
The parts guys there are a bit iffy

Great, because I had no idea :P

The mazda dealer near my house is like that, they suck at finding parts. So I look up the part number before hand and just tell them to order me "Part number X", that way there's no confusion. This site has diagrams and part numbers (and MSRP listings): http://www.jimellismazdaparts.com/

lol funny you say that, I just stumbled across that site, and the diagrams are WAY better then onlinemazdaparts (montgomery mazda). Thats the dealership I was going to stop by anyways, so I just saved them some time. $25 for that dam O ring...part number ZL01-13-ZE5 if anybody else is curious

The ignition coils on the car have less then 5K miles on them, so I highly doubt thats it.

this is the filter that came with the pump, and it didnt even remotely fit in the gas tank.

I left this part out when I went to put the pump back into the assembly, which is why I ripped the O ring...il have pics of that tomorrw

bunch of parts waiting to go in

I love that you're still modding and buying parts for your P5, Simon. Seems like all my friends are moving onto Speed3's and Miata's. Keep up the good work, man.

Yea man, Ill never be done buying parts for this car, I could care less about miatas and MS3's, I have a decent platform for what I want to do, and Im sticking with it lol
and here are some pics of the ripped O ring

I basically pushed the fuel pump too far into the assembly and thats what ripped it, lesson learned. It was just letting the fuel bleed back into the tank whenever I hit the throttle quickly, but it held enough pressure to get it to idle

Ooo

So what's next? lol

Hey do you think i could get a copy of your T3 map? I'll be running the SpeedCircuit turbo kit with 440 injectors. =)
