i used a lot of different brands and for me they are all good. Never owned anything except mazda vehicles so ikinda know how the paint will take it on the wax i use on it. I was told by my buddy who has a detail shop in cali that he mixes 3 waxes to achieve the best one possible...he has a tacoma and i tell you, he waxes that every six months and its a daily driver. That truck looks so clean and smooth...he can give the secret but he showed me how ti mix wax to make up fo a spray on quick detailer thing you use after waxing the car...it works...

my car has a couple of dents and a lot of swirls and a few scratches. is it going to look wierd being all shiny with dents and scratches? damn I need a paint job.

I couldn't agree with motegimazda more on the fact that I would only recommend what I would consider good and worked fine for my car and I have tried many waxes and so far Zaino has given me nothing but perfection.

I use the Meguir's paint cleaner after a thorough washing, then I use their gold wax. It lasts at least one month. The key is doing it right. The paint cleaner alone should take at least an hour. Wax the whole car, until you can see every speck of paint is covered in wax. If you can still clearly see paint, there's not enough wax. And really work it in. This should take hours . Let it set for about 10-15 minutes, then come back and buff all the excess off. Again, this will take some time. If at all possible, do this in a garage or anywhere that has shade. You don't want the car baking in the sun when you wax it. I do this every other month, and every time my car looks like it just rolled out of the factory with fresh paint.

That said, I'll probably try the Zaino Z-2PRO and MAYBE do the claybar thing if I feel like wasting an extra couple of hours. I just want something that lasts a little longer than Meguiars Gold class, not wasting my entire day on a depreciating econobox .

^^ if you only see your car as a depreciating econobox, why do you bother even cleaning it?

I've used Proshine QEW on my car for the past months of winter.. and used some crazy german polish/sealant that a local referred me to.
This summer, I'll probably just use the German sealant/polish (lasts ~6months) and just use Mothers Carnauba for a bi-monthly touchup.

If you want to buy z2, you must also have z5 and zfx as a minimum. After you put on zfx with z5 or z2, then you don't have to order zfx anymore. The claybar is nice but it isn't a necessity. Starting order for someone new is to order Z2, Z5, ZFX, and Zaino Gloss enhancer, then you are set.

Best bet though is for you to go stick with NXT since it will save you time and money since you sound like you don't really seem to care about how your car looks. It will save you from having to spend 5-6 hours outside washing your car and saving you from having to seperately claybaring your car.

Oh, the claybar is definitely worth it. It took all kinds of s*** out of my paint, and smoothed out the finish superbly. I've still got three or four sessions left over a year and a half after I bought the Zaino kit. WELL worth the money. Everyone always says my car always looks "wet".

if your not going to take the time to clay and prep the car properly for zaino, don't bother. this is not a typical wax and it bonds different to the paint. the paint must be clean before applying otherwise you'll get less then stellar results

Do what I do as I am restricted for time as well. I'll take like a sat afternoon, dawn wash the car, then clay it. this is the hardest part but it's not harder then any clay system is.

then the next day, get up, wash the car again, dry it, and start applying z5 or z2 with the zfx added to it. I'd bet some of you down south won't even have to wait for it to dry. If it is warm enough out, by the time you get done with applying the wax to the entire car, you could probably start wiping it off. You can leave zain on for however long you want though, it'll never stick the car permanently. at least not in my experience. I missed a spot or two from time to time and noticed it weeks later, and it still came off easy.

well, he didn't seem like he cared too much since he was laughing at how we spend several hours on our econoboxes but I agree, the claybar did help immensely. I just started the whole process again last week and claybarred and put 3 layers on. It was smooth and shiny and very reflective.

i use mothers wax, works well! the wax dust is anoying but i think thats true for all wax
