worthless car wax

yup, zaino has no dust at all. With mothers, it didn't matter how good I buffed off the wax, weeks later I'd find another white dust spot that suddenly showed up.

Zaino is also the smoothest wax I have ever touched when applied right.

Don't get lost in the comments about people putting xx amounts of coats on. Some people are obsessed. You have to realize that putting one coat of Zaino on is a joke it's so easy. But, because you have to put it on so thin, you should do a least 3 coats in a day to see what it's really about. It'll get shinier and smoother with more coats, but beyond maybe 10 coats, your wasting your time and money. Last year, I out more coats on then I need, just trying different things, but really, 3 coats of z5 then the next time you wax puy 3 coats of z2 or the other way around depending on your pref. will last a long time. That's 2 days waxing for months of protection.

anyways, I'm starting to feel like a Zaino pusher :)

Newf... where in Canada did you buy your Zaino?
God forbid Canadian Tire carry it... PartSource doesn't either.. I'm leaning to just buying it online to try it out.

shipping to Canada... b**** and a half with most companies (for some reason, it costs an extra $20 to cross the border?!)

If i can find somewhere national, that's better for me.

I detail cars on the side.
I have yet to try Zaino or NXT, I can't get past the sticker shock. I'd rather just wax my car more often as i can do a coat of wax in 15 minutes or so.
My $0.02.
-The regular Meguiar's liquid is crap (dark red bottle). 2 washes and wax is gone.
-The Mothers 3 step is pretty good. I do step 1 once a year, step 2 twice, and step 3 monthly. It doesn't last too long, but better than Meguiar's. The cleaner wax that Brian MP5T posted a picture of is good too.
-The Eagle One Nanowax is good. Again though, it doesn't last. I like the dispenser, and the fact that's it's easy on/off with the microfibre cloth, but it's a b**** without the cloth.
-Cheaper stuff that I find lasts longer is Rain Dance, Turtle Wax and Armor All, paste or liquid.
-I wouldn't go anywhere near my car with that Nu-Finish crap.

I haven't actually tried it I am going to buy zaino. Out of the ones I've used including mothers and turtle wax, and a few others, nu-finish was the best I've used so far. soon to change when I get my zaino

All I'm saying is that 3 times a year I spend about 3 hours on my car. Washing it with dish soap, using 3M Imperial Hand Glaze polish, and Meguiars Gold class on it. My car looks just beautiful to me. No rust, minimal chipping. Sure, it could look better with 3 more hours, but I'd rather actually drive the car, hang out with friends, or get laid :D.

That said, Meguiars as said in this thread, doesn't seem to last long enough. So because I don't use the other Zaino products before applying Z2, I cannot use it? That sounds fishy. If I just want some protection, can I not just use it on top of the polish I already applied and buffed out?

Otherwise, I'm looking for longer lasting solutions. A paste wax, maybe?

Nah, you're polish should be okay, just wash your car with Dawn to strip any remaining wax, then wash again with the zaino wash, then go on to z2. But really, the $100 is worth every penny and you get enough to last at least two years.

Zaino isn't a normal wax. It actually makes a semi-permenant bond with your paint, so you cant just put it on top of other wax or it wont work.

Right here dude

I think shipping was a flat rate of 9 bucks or something last year.

Right, I meant he'd be ok with his other polish. He'll need to strip the old wax with a Dawn dishwashing liquid wash, then start on the Zaino.

Well, their instructions is to use ZFX mixed with Z2 or Z5 so either way, you have to get ZFX and 1 of the 2 in order for it to be done right. Otherwise, you may not get the type of finish that their reputation sits on. Those are really the basic things you must get unless you can find someone with ZFX and see if they will let you use some of it.

Crapamoly this thread got long.

Update: I used NuFinish car "polish". I guess it's not wax. Anyway, 3 weeks now, and water is still beading off the car. heh. I said beading off.

Wow i'm pretty impressed. I would recommend that you top your polish off with a good carnauba wax. It will give it a deeper shine and continue to beed with even more protection.
