Winter FI/Engine projects?

Congrats man, you got that done really fast. I hope you get the #'s your lookign for.

500 mile check up. Had a minor oil leak coming from the turbo drain tube.

Set the wastegate back up. Ran it around at 7.5psi. Spool up is exactly as stock however it is very doggy at 7.5 psi. Will not spin in second, which is Very un-characteristic of the car. At this point I am still disappointed.
I have yet to see what map (if any) is loaded in the MPI because I don't have a laptop anymore. I'm not sure if 5months without a battery hooked up would effect what map was loaded.
On a side note, it sounds pretty mean with the cap off and running open exhaust.

Alittle update... It now has 790miles on it. It seems like I have been driving it non-stop for the past week.
I just bought a laptop yesterday. The only problem is it has no serial connector, so I bought a usb to serial adapter, but it still wouldn't communicate with the MPI. So I went out and bought another laptop. So now I have two laptops. I had to tweak with the amp set-up to get the turbo module to kick in later so that I didn't get a hesitation when it kicked on.
Nick called me on thursday to give me the good news that my 15psi wastegate should get to me on monday, the same day my custommsp intercooler should be here. He also gave me alittle insight of why I think it is sluggish. I'm pretty sure I won't be thinking its sluggish when the lowest boost I can run is 15, lol. I was gonna put the 577cc injectors today but alas, I forgot them at work. lol

Overall the boost is coming in around 2100-2200 rpm. For example, if I start out at say 1800 in third gear and punch it 1/4-1/2 throttle I have built up like 3-4 psi by 2200 rpm. I actually tried to make it turbo lag, but you really have to work at it to get any. I can't wait to run 12-15psi. I'm just waiting on the intercooler.

you did so much port work and lowered the compression, of course the car will feel slow at 7.5 psi. It is at 15-17, where you were before, that you will start noticing things i bet.

Great project man, if i had it to do over, i would want to go sleeper like you :)

Holy crap Azian6ers back!! lol. Your exactly right, I wasn't thinking about the loss of velocity I have experienced by porting everything.
Don't get me wrong, it would probably run a low 14 to a high 13 right now at 7.5psi, but not exactly where it was last year. I'm pretty sure everything will even out once the boost is raised.

How's that thumper kit running? Have you gotten a engine management system yet? I was acutally thinking the opposite when I couldn't get a pos corvette to play tonight, lol.

Heres the new intercooler and a 15psi wastegate....hehe.

now you have to say you are stock looking. you done went threw your whole shtick out the window

What? I haven't started on the bondo for the intercooler to make it look stock yet, lol. It just came today man, give me some time!

FMIC are for people that don't know how to make an intercooler, lol. This is my street intercooler, the one I will be running for "race" setup I am still making. Besides, a big front mount weighs to much and doesn't look stock.

Brian are you still running the stock BPV? Reason I ask is because my stock BPV was leaking under partial throttle when I tried it out just for the hell of it. I'm not sure if it leaks under full throttle though.

It is supposed to leak at idle and very slight partial throttle, low load situations. The one I am running is a stock unit. I have been thinking about running 2, but I'm not sure how to find out if it necessary.

Before my HKS SSQV I was running a DSM 1g BOV open vent and at part throttle it would leak. It would leak boost if I didn't keep on giving it more gas. With the HKS once the boost reaches a certain psi it stays there. It's a noticeable difference in how the car drives.

Alright got done "stockerizing" the CustomMsp SMIC. It looks pretty damn close to stock.
I doubt anyone other than a very keen MSP owner would ever notice its not stock without me telling them.
