Why I'm starting to HATE my Mp5

I very rarely have to think about driving standard anymore, and I've only had a standard for about 6 months...its completly automatic (no pun intended).

I just asked my g/f and she said the only time I break conversation is if there is a difficult intersection or alot of traffic.

i know i know, you become the car, its all in the head yadda yadda, but what I'm saying is that the way you drive it, you have to pay attention to whats ahead so you know what to switch it into and when. No matter what, If youre driving a stick, your eyes are always glued to the road.
Im glad I have one, so whenever I drive high it keeps me aware.;)

ever since ive driven a 5-speed i have been a much better driver. and am aware more of my surroundings. so im with u on that but never had to focus somuch that i couldn't keep up a conversation with a full car and still look at them when they are talkin

whether I'm driving standard or not my eyes are always on the road.

Deer, children, and drunk drivers don't care what you drive. My reaction time has saved me from an accident numerous times

...in fact I got pissed at myself one time (when I was driving my 1990 Grand Marquis) because if i had slammed on the brakes 2 seconds later I would have had a new car on the other person's insurance. (it was very rare that a driver didn't see a giant white marquis coming down the road, this person obviously decided looking left was not their job.)

Anyway, it does take a little time to find a groove with driving standard, but as soon as you do, you have the whole car at your finger tips. In the event of an emergency, the car will stop just as fast if you slam both the brake and the clutch to the floor.

The only advantage auto drivers have IMO is 5mph traffic...they can let off the brake and roll w/o pressing the gas. Standard driver's must work to go 5mph.

Well I have an auto with the sport shift. To me, it gives you the manual feeling where it somewhat let you have control in selectiing gear and not worrying about the clutch.

Try getting out of toronto in rush hour on highway ram.
Damn! that when the automatic tranny's benefit kicks in.

lol its a pain goin 5mph in stik thats y i let a gap open in front then i move foward but i love stick to much i will nevver give it up and u people are luky there not cable/mechanecal clutches lol ive drivin some of my friends car that are old but crazy (im 18 so i never owned an old muscle car :()

My friend has an 87 944...after driving it for 20 minutes I felt like my leg was going to fall off...plus he kept yelling at me "give it more gas" cause I was trying to ease into 1st. Then he drove my car and realized where my habits came from.

I think that if everyone drove stickshifts, more people would be better drivers and we would have less accidents (after they learned how to use it :D )

I love my stick (thumb)
