Who wants beefy axles?

Turbo P5
First, this is posted in Forced induction because I feel the majority of the people who are going to want these are the turbo guys. With that said:

If you have not heard, we have found someone to make us beefy axles. Thanks RAAZ227 for finding the company.
They will be good for at least 300 horsepower and carry a free replacement warranty for 6 months to 1 year for broken and worn parts, but does not include boots, ie, if a boot rips. The turn around time for replacement is usually 24 hours. The length of the warranty depends on what level they can build for us, but the level 1 is good for at least 300 horsepower and will have a 6 month warranty. Plenty of time to find out if they are going to break or last a long time.

The axles have high grade chrome moly bars with special double temper for more torsional performance. 1117 billet housings with matched components, The inner c.v. tripod is much heavier than the factory unit and the housing is much stronger. These axles come with Blue boots and a high grade synthetic grease.

We do not have a timeframe yet for when these will be done, I will be donating a full set of axles for research and development. Once I find out a time frame, I will post it.

What I need to know now is who is definitly interested in purchasing a set during an initial buy. The price should be no more than $600, but that price is not set. It could be lower if we get a strong order going. It could also be more, but not by much. I know TCI charges Honda guys in the lower $1000 range, and thats without a warranty, so this is a good price.

Add me to the list. But can they make maybe a level 2 also? Never know when someone will break into the 350-400hp mark. :) Just wondering but I'm in!!!

i just ******* found out that i have a cracked cv boot. what the **** should i do. should i get my turbo then fix it or fix it right away? how severe is this problem. there is still grease in the boot to keep it lubed but what would be the consequences of riding this out till i can afford the $700 Stage 2 cv joints?

If you have a bad boot, fix it now. . .it will only get worse and as crap gets in there, it will mess up the race and cage and cause more problems (the "click, click, click" when turning).

That problem needs to be addressed yesterday mr.wizard9k. I had a Ford Probe GT that tore a boot and I didn't know until my drivetrain had tons of play in it (worn CV). May cost close to $200 in parts and labor to change out the CV/axle when worn. Oh, and this cv joint play is not good for your tranny.

Back to the topic though, beefed axles and CVs would be saweet!

You can get whole new CV axle at Autozone for $60. It is complete, just take the old axle out and put the new one in for $60.

Ok, just got off the phone with Frank and here are the questions I asked and the answers I got.

Horsepower level?
Probally will be able to build a level 2 axle good for 400 horsepower.

How long?
Since he is able to use different parts from the Mazda's he makes axles for, he may have all the parts on the shelf.

How much?
They like to keep that level at the $699 mark, see's no problem for it to be any higher.

How about the jackshaft?
Usually the manufacturers make the jackshaft out of stronger material, but he will test it to be sure.

So hopefully once he receives the donated parts, it will not take long at all for a finished product. He also told me something interesting, just last week Super Street Magazine had called him inquiring about the same axles, could they be building a P5? I know Terry mentioned quite some time ago that a well known magazine had also inquired Spool ITS for some parts. maybe we will finally get the Magazine recognition and start kicking these damn Honduhs out of the limelight.

So now to get the axles sent off.
