Im looking at some mazda 3 Ive already did some research and this car looks great and beats out alot competitors. I got a quote what should i pay for a new one . Need to know what the diff between an s vs i model mazda .

exteriors a little different, the S has a nicer looking (IMO) grill and front bumper + its got side skirts. they also have different sized wheels

the S also has a 2.3 liter engine with 160hp while the i has a 2.0 with 150?

the S also has fog lights and 6 disc stereo (some bose, some not) and the S also has sunroof (on some models).

My girlfriend just bought an S on Friday night, it had the red/black cloth interior, 6 disc regular radio, sunroof, the different side sill extensions and most importanty the 2.3 engine.

My recommendation would be to just go to a dealership and look at the two side by side then drive both. Then go from there.

Packard,

go to www.cars.com "Research" section, pick the M3 S trim you are thinking of and through the "Side-by-side comparison" function (top right of the page), you can compare it to any of the trims for the M3 I.

I have a M3 S Touring 5-door 2.3L Manual. Before I decided to get it I compared it to an equally equipped 2.0L (sedan, the 5-door comes only with the 2.3L engine) and the price came up almost the same.

Unless you are REALLY interested in the better fuel economy of the 2.0L enginer or spend as little money as possible for a base 2.0 sedan I don't see the point in buying the smaller engine model.

For my car I paid $17,100 (not including taxes but including destination charge). I got no options on top of what the Touring comes with, which is quite a bit: ABS with brake assist, Airbags everywhere, 17" alloy wheels, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, ignition disable, etc. etc.

Just my $0.02

So with this quote for 16685 looks good but is there anything u think i should add. I want 160hp I have not asked dealer as i dont want price to go up so came here to see if this one has 160hp i want the extra horses. This car is real bang for the buck. Ive driven rx7 in past and it was a blast to drive will I get that experience. I like acceleration and zoom zoom cars. My last cars have left me bored I like that rx7 my parents had as a loaner it was fun to drive.

The 2.3L has 160hp unless you (like me) live in one of the states mandating the PZEV to reduce pollution. If that's the case (i.e. California or Massachusetts), then you get "only" 153hp, if I remember correctly.

Still quite lively 157hp, I must say (thumb)

to answer your question yes thats the 160hp engine... as far as will it feel like an rx7... not really, its not a rotary nor is it a true sports car as that was, but as far as comparing it to a civic/carolla then yes its funner to drive and gives you the "zoom zoom" feeling

not a bad price either from what i can tell...
