What have you done to your P5 today?

I found a 2004 6wagon part out on craigslist. Bought calipers w/brackets, rotors, with fairly new pads for $120. I love how they feel, no problems for me what so ever.

^ depends on the year, the calipers are all different sizes. I know i cant fit anything smaller then 17s over mine because of the caliper..

just make sure to check wheel sizes and offsets.. but yes the caliper bolts up ive had mine for more then a few years now without issues.
what about lines? and should be no prob on 18s ms3 wheels

what you mean w/brackets only part throwing me off lol sorry if its a stupid question

now this might be blasphemy, but i kind of want to add the roof rails from a 6 wagon to my p5. it would require drilling of course which is the bummer. i dont like the standard rack because it was real flimsy so i got rid of it, and a regular thule rack kinda sits far forward and doesnt have a huge span between the rails. could make up a nice cross bar spread and looks pretty nice i feel

Why not put p5 rack on??
Check the fs threads for my rack later today.

Installed yellow speed coilovers yesterday, need to raise the rear i bit because it rubs and lower the front a bit because its too high for my liking

Interestingly after my ride home the caliper that was sticking didn't seem to be sticking anymore.

I still took off both rear calipers to see if I can spot anything out of the ordinary. The slide pins and the pad shims on both calipers were in good shape, but I cleaned and lubed everything while I was in there because it was all pretty grungy. The one thing I did notice was that the left caliper's piston doesn't slide in and out as well when using the adjustment screw. In fact, to get the caliper to fit back over the pads I had to manually push the piston back in after turning the adjustment screw all the way counter-clockwise. I suspect that's a good indication that the caliper is on it's way out, right?

The worst part is that it's only been 1 year and 3 days since I installed them :(

Got confirmation the I totaled the p5 last saturday :(

Sorry to hear. Glad you're alright though.

Is this a confirmation that you're parting some of the salvageable pieces out?

If so, please PM me before posting a FS thread.

-thanks!

He had mentioned in another thread that he had no time for a part out. Can't blame him though. Things can be rather hecktic with a newborn. I would really like to get his doors from him though.

It seems as though there has been an out-break of seized calipers lately. Glad I put Mazda6 calipers and rotors on mine. Got rid of those POS calipers!

Lately? Damn things have been failing since 2003.
