not really no. it's almost there. the big killer is insurance..

but anyways, do you know from center how many times your wheel turns to the left/right?

1.5 sounds right.. maybe a little less. The only protege that should differ from that is the MP3, it has faster steering

Pulled out my SU front motor mount.........Man it's nice to keep my fillings in my mouth. I couldn't take it any longer.

pulling out of work and got waved at by a moded p5 in the parking lot. caught me off guard, and I had to do a double take lol. It was a midnight blue looked like an 02 with yellow rockblockers/3 inch rear drop 2inch front/looked like a ractive exhaust but the car was so low I couldnt tell. I talked to the guy for a hot secand and told him I post at mazdas247.com, I think I heard him say he posts at another MazdaSpeed site. I zoomed off after a quick "nice ride!" this was the first time I've ever seen another moded p5 before in person. it felt great :)

My clutch started slipping today. That didn't take long (glare) .

my stock clutch at 78500 miles was still mint.. but I'm sure it would have been toast with the power I'm making. Luckily the MSP clutch can hold around 250whp :)

Yeah, the one thing I should've invested in. I just figured the stock clutch would have been able to hold out a little longer with the power I'm currently making (probably 160-170 whp). Oh well, I guess I need to be more careful until I can afford to buy a new clutch (and with that will be a new flywheel :) ).

Installed a RR UDP. Dang.....the altenator bolts are pretty tough to get to. It's one of those projects that the first time is kinda tough but if you were to do it again it would be a breeze. I attached a few pics including the belt part numbers for reference. Thanks again Patrick (Bala de Plata) for both the UDP and belts. Everything turned out great! The but dyno is happy.

Oh yeah...a few squirts of WD-40 and one hit w/ the electric impact and blamo the bolt came right out. Living in the south has some advantages. If you don't get that see this.......http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123626776&highlight=udp+impact+wrench
This thread has a little bit of everything - problem solving, a how to and general comments about the process.

For the price it's a decent mod. After doing full exhaust and several other things it did actually feel like I gained a little on the low end. Ehhh.....either way. It's always good to get out in the garage and tinker.

Yeah it is a worthwhile mod.. I still have mine sitting in my garage since I took it off with my turbo install (I'm not looking to squeeze every little bit of HP out of the engine, no need now :D ).. I should really make a FS thread for all the parts I have sitting around.

Go ahead.....rub it in why don't ya.

I used to get 36.6mpg.. um so I'm down to half a tank and um.. 100 miles on the tank.. that's seriously like 12mpg rofl

I need to stop b00sting all over the place, especially in the snow HAHA

Yeah really. I think I have enough stuff in the garage to start a small parts dealership. I have all the stock stuff plus a lot of things I bought in excess for my turbo build. I really need to update myy for-sale thread.

How are the Gates belts working for you? I used the Goodyear Gatorbacks with my UDP and I have been having a lot of squeaking issues. I ended up having to go down one size then what was suggested with the alt/ps belt and I'm going to have to do the same for the other as well one of these days. I might just break down and buy the Gates belt if it seems to work better.

I'm at 20,000 miles with my rr-racing udp with Gates belts and have never had a squeal or squeak. Here's what Im running:

Took the P5 to the park and kicked a soccer ball around with the kiddos at sunset. It was like 80 this afternoon (One week after the "blizzard of '07") WTF?
