What have you done to your P5 today?

aftermarket wires are fairly useless with our cars.. they look nice but that's about it. the wires NGK sells are pretty much as good as any of the other "performance" wires

Well I got my ss installed today, with the much needed help from Corwin!!! Thanks Corwin!!! You da man! Now I Just gotta get used to it bein a lil harder to shift.

If anyone has any problems w/ knobs not fitting exactly right, like screwed on all the way they angle off a little bit instead of bein situated straight forward...TEFLON TAPE WORKS WONDERS!!! I had to use some b/c the knob screwed on cockeyed a little bit...Teflon tape fixed it!!!

Well thanks again Corwin!!! tomorrow should be fun :-D

Which knob/shifter combo? If it's going on crooked either the shifter or knob might be crossthreaded. I know with the greddy knob (the one that weighs literally 1 pound) you have to be careful about spinning it on too fast, because it's made out of copper (soft).

Oh and who is this "Corwin" you speak of.. you mean "Mr. Win"? :P

Its the TWM with a mazda knob.
Wait this is the Mazda3 knob with the plastic inner part replaced with metal, isn't it? I bet the threads just don't quite match up, like whoever put the metal in might have approximated the M10x1.5 or whatever the stock shifter is with an SAE tap.. I'd find someone with a metric tap set (I have one.. but I'm quite far away hehe) and have them tap the shift knob and if it needs it, take a die to the shifter. I know when I crossthreaded my greddy knob on, it messed up the threading on my TWM too. I learned my lesson, be careful, especially with heavy knobs: take it nice and slow spinning it on :)

no the threads are the right size, i think whoever tapped it may have tapped a little to far (too many turns)

the teflon tape just made the threads tight before they were completely "used." there is maybe 1/8 turn left of the threads, but the teflon tape makes it tight where it is. :D

yeah if it's on and it works for ya, that's fine.

Took a friend for a drive in the P5 last night. He's in the market for a car, and after last night's ride, the P5 is on his list.

We're going car shopping this morning. :)

if that were teh case it should still bottom out on the metal of the shifter (or on the washer of your shift boot)

its not tapped deep enough to bottom out. its like when they tapped it, they didnt complete the last rotation of the tap but also didnt tap enough for it to bottom out. its hard to explain :(

Wow, I didn't notice anything with those. I got mine used off another member here for like $50 with new coil packs. I just liked the fact that they were red 9and the possibility of a slight performance increase).

Yah, I just got mine off of a member(willkill) also for pretty much brand new for only $20 shipped. Defenately worth the money. If anything they deffinately make the engine bay look better. But I did notice a difference. If anyone is interested in my stock wires let me know.

Put in some XTC speaker baffles....Other than that...nothing...Tommorrow new exhaust...MP3 Racing Beat modified for the P5....We'll see what she sounds like..

Went out in the P5 today with my friend who's car shopping. At the end of the day the thing he'd liked the most was my P5, which he drove all day!

I think I've made a convert! :D

^^ it always works. I got 3 of my friends back home to buy Proteges.. a laser blue MP3, laser blue MSP, and black P5 :) they're just too fun to drive, why buy anything else :D

Changed the oil today. Also ordered some Valeo wipers from TireRack.

Tried the ones from Canadian Tire, forget the name, also tried the Bosch Icon wipers.

Trying the Valeo as they were 2 for the price of 1.

Installed the new shift knob yesterday. Got the garage heating up right now to put on my Blue Batmobile tailight overlays.

My battery died at work today. It is 7f right now and probably close to or below zero when I got there at 4:45am. We couldn't get it to jump originally, so I wasted two hours waiting for someone to come out. Finally I was able to get a hold of my dad and we successfully jumped it. Now to get rid of that damn Panasonic junker.
